I love this place. You order your food on a machine with an English option, get your ticket, scan it on the next payment machine, pay your food, take your seat and wait for your number to appear on the counter screen, get your food, enjoy and return your tray. There were great food options to choose from and all of them were delightful 🙂 Be mindful during lunchtime and avoid staying longer than needed as there are others waiting to sit.

The gyudon at Matsuya Kioicho tastes like any other Matsuya restaurant's, which is exactly what you'd hope for. It's very easy to order your meal at the kiosk/terminal at the front door. The miso on the side is great. Restaurant seemed clean. I enjoyed the cold green tea on a warm day. Recommended!

Its actually 3.75 stars. Not bad. It is on the better side. It is like a fast-food type rice and meat type restaurant. It is vending machine style: You put your money in and get at ticket to give to the kitchen. The food was not the greatest but it was good for the money. I would go there in a pinch, the way one would go to a fast-food place in a pinch. I think it is still better quality than...

Outstanding food for the price; delicious and affordable fried beef. However, frequent sightings of cockroaches and occasional stinking trays that say "not washed for days" are no-deal for me. Food dishes are always spot clean, but avoid touching anything else.

Edit: Asked for a clean tray, still stinking straight out of the tray...
