We stumbled upon this little shop near Kabukicho Tower (about a 3-5 minute walk) and Seibu Shinjuku Station by accident. Since it was the only mazesoba place we found in all of Tokyo—and because I'm a huge fan of dry noodles—we had to give it a try :)

We ordered the All Topping Mazesoba (¥1,250) because it had a "#1" sign next to it, plus it was the most expensive item on the menu. Naturally, we assumed it was their star dish.

If you're new to mazesoba, don't worry—they have clear instructions on the wall on how to eat it. The concept is similar to aburasoba, but I found mazesoba to be more straightforward and easier to enjoy. Unlike aburasoba, where we kept adjusting the flavor with vinegar, chili oil, and onions, this bowl was already packed with rich, well-balanced flavors. The mix of ingredients—egg, seaweed, bamboo shoots, spring onion, garlic, and pork blended perfectly. Halfway through, we added a little vinegar to balance out the strong flavors.

A cool tip from their "how to eat" guide: leave some sauce at the end and mix it with rice (which they offer for free—just ask the staff!).

The flavor leans on the heavier, savory side, so finishing a full bowl alone might be a bit much. We shared one bowl between the two of us, and the staff was super kind, even giving us an extra bowl without any issue. We thought they might not allow sharing, but they were really accommodating!

We arrived at 11:40 AM on a Friday (they open at 11:30 AM) and got seated right away, but by the time we left, there were only a few seats left. The place is small and has a bar-style setup, so it fills up quickly.

Overall, it's a great spot for a quick, satisfying meal that's both delicious and good value for money. Thinking back, this would pair perfectly with a...

Small quaint restaurant beside the Shinjuku railways. Its in between shin-okubo and shinjuku jr stations. I went at noon when it was opening and theres no queue. But honestly it an amazing bowl of mazesoba. After im done with my meal, the shop slowly filled up though not to the extent of a queue.

I had the full bowl (from the english menu), cost ¥1300. Each topping was done great and taste amazingly together. Its not too overwhelming and im not sick of it even after eating alot and still taste great. The portion is quite generous, and i couldnt finish. Wish I have some tummy space to try the post-soba rice top-up!

The staff have limited english skills but they have an english menu with clear pics! Would go back when...

Food is delicious, good portion

I order 1 all include ramen , finish it all within second The unfinished soup is mixed with a free small portion of rice

Come in at 10.20pm Free cold water A handsome chef handle the kitchen and service alone

1250yen for the big bowl 900yen for the spicy bowl

Pls don’t order extreme spicy, a small spicy with a single chili sign is very spicy for a seasonal spicy eater, u can top up spice later with chili flake provided on the table

For Malaysian it taste like...
