I'm not sure if the man behind the counter is the owner/proprietor of this business, but he sure is an enthusiastic ninja!

Secondly, I have to acknowledge, this is a tourist trap, if we are to be honest about it. For 1,000 yen, you'll be given a 20 minute lesson on the history of ninjutsu and do other ninja related activities, such as: item hunting, swinging wooden swords, and throwing ninja stars. All of this is tucked away on the 4th floor of a nondescript building in the shadier parts of Shinjuku, with a 4 person maximum per group experience. (I recommend going during the daytime.)

All that being said, if you just allow yourself to be a tourist and open your mind for a half hour, you can have a pretty fun experience. It's all silly and you won't come out of the experience as a ninja, but for about $10 it's a nice way to spend your time while traveling around Tokyo. And the chance to throw iron ninja stars (approximately 5 of them) at foam targets is definitely worth at...

I had so much fun at Ninja Trick House! It was my last day in Japan and it was an awesome way to end my trip. The instructor was so nice and funny, and so was the assistant, they were both very kind and welcoming (and they liked my Haikyuu!! phone case :D). The reading material is available in various languages, which was nice. I went there by myself and got grouped with a man who also went by himself and two women who went together, and we all had a blast! The instructor made it so entertaining and fun, cracking jokes and hyping us up when we practiced the exercises.
