The good: Fine dining at its best – conveniently located on the second floor of The Knot Hotel where we stayed. The service was warm, attentive and incredibly accommodating. The ambience oozed sophistication: dim mood lighting, modern decor, and a mix of romantic booths, bar stools, and spacious tables. My son and I chose the bench-style seating overlooking the open kitchen – watching the chefs work the grill was a show in itself.

The standout: The truffle mushroom ravioli. Hands down the best ravioli dish I’ve ever had – and that’s saying something given I live in Sydney’s Italian district. So surprised that it was an $18 AUD dish - you'd pay double or triple for that quality in Sydney. It was so good, I went back a second time before leaving Tokyo … and ordered it again.

Room for improvement: My only regret? Not trying the steak – their signature dish. Next time, without question.

Would I return? Absolutely. I could’ve eaten here every night.

The verdict: 5 out of 5 stars – refined yet welcoming, with a menu that delivers comfort and class in every bite. Don’t miss it if you’re staying (or even if you’re not)...

Booked an early pre Tokyo marathon dinner here on Saturday evening, only time available was 5.30pm and we were warned table was just for an hour. We still hoped to have a relaxing time before a long day tomorrow. We struggled to order promptly as restaurant obviously under staffed. Had to ask for bread twice, white wine served warm, salad served at 5.45pm, bolognese turned up at 6pm, then we were asked to vacate table at 6.15pm even though I hadn't finished eating and the restaurant was more than half empty at that time! I was told I could take my partially eaten plate with me to the bar by the waiter! I made it clear I found this behaviour rude, but bolted the rest of my chicken ceasar salad down and went to the bar. An apology was made, but far too little much too late. Terrible level of service for an...

Nice ambience, but: we were told food would take 30-40 as the restaurant was busy. Spoke to Manager 1hr in, but he wasn't too bothered. That then turned into 1:15hrs and no one seemed to care. Appetizers arrived after mains; waiter just thought that was funny and laughed. Asked for bread and olive oil...got brought olives. Twice had to ask for plates to be cleared as no one was paying any attention. The 5 orders of wagyu steak were served cold and herbed butter on it was still frozen...

Food ingredients were great quality, but shame the experience was ruined by people who don't really care or know how to...

Arrived there at 5:45 pm as we had a reservation. It’s inside the hotel, and upon checking in at the door, we were guided to the second floor. I was impressed with the atmosphere, as it was open, modern and refined. We ordered our aperitif and the seasonal course. Each plate, using fresh seasonal ingredients was prepared with care and tasted great. Staff checked in occasionally to make sure that we had all we needed. We didn’t realize that four hours have passed while throughly enjoying the course and our drinks. The course items would change each month, and I would definitely return to the establishment to try other dishes.
