It was a disappointing lunch at a place that I could once count on to always come through. We had the Deluxe Lunch at ¥1470 each -- 2 curries, nan, papadam, samosa, salad, a drink, and some unidentifiable bit of meat, which did not thrill our vegetarian diners.
The service was lackluster at best, and while I never expect an ebulient performance from a server, this one was close to surley and impatient when we asked some questions. He brought the standard tray with two portions of curry (about a third of a cup each), the breads, salad, etc. I ordered the spinach sag, which turned out to be the less expensive and less tasty komatsuna, with mushrooms that tasted suspiciously like they were direct from the can. I've never heard of sag mushrooms, have you? They must also be saving money by using less or no spices.
The samosa was so small that I laughed out loud. But, I suppose since they were not serving the spicy mint sauce (or heck, even ketchup) with it, it probably was for the best.
The "dessert" was basically mango sauce in a smaller bowl than the curries came in, garnished with a spoon, and served at room temperature. Ugh.
This review is for the Moti in Futakotamagawa Rise. Maybe others in the chain are better, maybe dinner is better.

Read moreAs an Indian diner who occasionally visits this restaurant, I can say the flavor profile is noticeably better than what you typically find at the many "Indian" spots near train stations. The decor and views are genuinely impressive, and they do help justify the premium pricing to some extent. However, the food quality, portion sizes, and presentation fall short of expectations.
Dishes are served in surprisingly small portions, often lacking proper garnishing and depth, which makes the overall experience feel underwhelming—especially given the cost.
I’d recommend this place only if you're specifically craving Indian food and happen to be in the area. But if you're looking for a memorable or well-rounded dining experience, this may not be the best choice.
To the management: I suggest revisiting your competitive strategy. Either adjust the pricing to better reflect the current offering, or enhance the portion sizes and flavor complexity to justify the premium pricing. The ambiance is already a strong point—now the food needs...
Read moreHalal is not written specifically. They serve alcohol. Chicken items are not halal according to them. But I highly doubt if other items they claim to be Halal. I didn't see any separated prep and cooking facilitaties for Halal items. It doesn't look, feel like a Halal restaurant. I ordered Shish Kabab. It tasted awful. It has no flavor to it. I never had experience such liveless, boring distasteful Shish Kabab. Nan was also awful. It has baking soda taste in it. Food decorations is average. Nothing fancy. Restaurant it self medium size. There two people, four people, 8 people type sitting arrangements. Interior Decorations is good. Waiting time may vary depending on what items, and amount of items you order. For me they took solid 20 minutes to prepare two Shish Kabab. Price: Way to much regarding the quality. I don't recommend, specifically for...
