New Kōnan – Japanese Izakaya near Shinagawa Station — Restaurant in Tokyo

Unfortunately, there aren't many places open after midnight near Shinagawa station. There are two annoying guys standing out front trying to get people to come in here, which is typically a sign that you shouldn't go.

However, the other night my friend and I tried it. Otoshi is 550¥ per person and you just get a small bowl of moyashi (bean sprouts) to share. There is no QR code ordering system so you must get the staffs attention but the staff was more interested in talking with each other than helping customers. I waited about 15 minutes for my drink and the female staff just said "it's coming". She definitely forgot to put the order in.

Food portions are very small, not cheap, but tasted ok.

Tables are VERY close to each other which makes it very uncomfortable, hard to hear whoever you're with, and even hard to walk to the toilet.

First and last time here. 12,000¥ for 3 drinks and a few dishes....

Not honest with the bill. Charged us extra on an appetizer we didn't order which raised the bill by 50%, when I questioned, they told me it was a table charge. Seriously, I couldn't even get a cup of water from them. It was a spot for standing, not even a table I was at. There wasn't any chairs to sit. ここは品川駅徒歩1分の外観も内観も目立っている大衆居酒屋でした。面白いのはお酒の量り売り。好きなお酒と量を選んで、割るものを選んで、後は自由に自分らでお酒が作れる。楽しく好きなものを飲めました。 また品川駅近にも関わらず、お酒も料理も割とコスパ良い感じで、お通しまで食べ放題なんて素晴らしい。サクッと行くのも、長時間利用でも使い勝手が良さそうです。

This is a popular izakaya that stands out both inside and out, located just a one-minute walk from Shinagawa Station. What's interesting is that they sell alcohol by weight. You can choose the amount of alcohol you want, choose what to mix it with, and then make your own drink. I had fun drinking what I liked. Even though it's close to Shinagawa Station, the drinks and food are pretty good value for money, and the all-you-can-eat appetizer is amazing. It's convenient for both quick drinks and long stays.
