Beautiful location but underwhelming food and inefficient service. I don’t think the wait staff there meant any ill, as I got the feeling they are mostly either new or have been very badly trained. First, the wait was long both in time (45 min) and in line, yet there were three open tables. At one point five different staff members were on the floor: 2 were serving food to one table, 1 was standing by them and not doing anything in particular, 1 was bussing, and another one “patrolled” around the cafe as I wasn’t sure they were doing what. One of the wait staff kept on laughing and cracking jokes with the other staff when they were just standing at the cashier counter—whilst all the customers were still waiting to be seated. Most of us were foreigners and were very confused. While we all waited, they did not give us menus to look at—there was only one menu stand outside of the cafe. The staff were very awkwardly handling food (like they were scared the trays were going to fall, and didn’t seem to know how to place the plates on table). They also were not attentive; many tables struggled with getting waitstaff attention. I had one meat pie (with salad): salad needed more dressing and meat pie needed more meat. Given it’s a museum cafe, it’s not in direct competition with other venues in the neighborhood. People come here due to mostly convenience and maybe for its beautiful location right in the middle of the garden. But I personally don’t think the wait, food, and price...
Read moreI was told that red leaves season in Japan is a must see. The beautiful Red, Yellow, and Orange leaves with a cool weather. I was sold on a visit and made sure to find a lovely location to see the leaves. Looking online I found Nezu Meusum which housed many wonderful exhibits and trees. And inside the Muesum is a lovely cafe called NezuCafe.
Nezucafe is a nice comfy Cafe with a great view of the red leaves. Many of the surrounding trees have changed colors and as the cafe is perched on the side of an incline, the leaves were on full display.
After a wait to enter, I was seated next to the windows and served some tasty meat pies, coffee and cake. With tasty food in hand, I enjoyed the scenery and the relaxing atmosphere.
A nice cafe to visit...
