I really wanted to like this place because I love Yoku Moku cigare and the food looked so good. It was fine. I waited about 45 minutes to be seated because the patio was closed (because they thought it would rain, though it never did). I believe you can make reservations, and perhaps if I had the whole experience would have been better, but when I did finally get seated, they put me at a six person table (I was by myself) so I honestly felt like a bit of an idiot. It was a rough start. The food (smoked salmon and potato gallete) was a good portion and it was filling with a perfectly cooked egg inside. The taste was fine, but the best part of the meal was the corn consomme which came on the side in a tiny cup. It was so rich and flavorful, I would have had a whole meal of that if I could have.
The matcha mont blanc was visually stunning but disappointing in terms of flavor. The base cookie and exterior had light matcha flavor but there wasn't matcha in the interior fillings, and for reasons I don't understand, they chose rum raisin ice cream as the top interior filling. Mystifying. And unfortunate because it kind of muddled the matcha flavor which was already sparse. The meringue and cream inside were both good, and the meringue maintained a good crunch. The yuzu jam that came with it as garnish was excellent and paired well, but the sesame snaps were not good at all and were a bit on the burnt side. To be fair, it can be hard to judge how done a sesame snap is when you use black sesame, but for the price (just short of 2000 yen), I would at least expect them to not be so overbaked. So, the matcha mont blanc wasn't bad, but I wouldn't particularly recommend it. The service was a bit... stuffy. It seems like maybe that's what people come here for but it's not my vibe so I found it rather cold and uninviting. The female staff were all nice enough but the male staff member who seemed to be in charge was a bit brusque and not particularly attentive.
If you're a wheelchair user, this place is a no-go. There are multiple stairs to get to the seating areas, and even to the patio, it looked like. ND folks might find this place difficult because of the style of the service but it wasn't overly loud or bustling, so it could be ok for some.
Overall, it was expensive and there wasn't anything remarkably good about it, so I was underwhelmed and disappointed. Perhaps worth a try if you are going with a friend for teatime or such, but I don't plan on going back. The cookies are still top notch though, so grab some of those from the shop next...

The quality of the food is nothing to be excited about, and with the prices you'd expect good service. The experience I had, left us feeling bad. I won't buy anything from Yoku Moku or visit their shop again.
I visited the cafe with my 3 children, 11, 10 and 3 y/o. My 3y/o wanted a parfait which was rather large for her to finish. The waitress who took our order said that there is a rule, that since there are 4 of us, we must order 4 items. I explained that my youngest is only 3 years old, and that she probably won't be able to finish her Parfait. The staff then brought 3 pieces of cookies, as we ordered 3 items. After we finished our food, my 2 older children wanted to order more, so we ordered 2 more tarts. I asked them for 2 more pieces of cookies as my children enjoyed it very much. The staff then came back and told me it was one cookie per person. I thought it was strange as if that was the case, they should have brought 4 pieces of cookies from the beginning. They later brought us 1 more piece to make it four in total.
