Oreryū Shio Ramen Nakameguro — Restaurant in Tokyo

Stumbled into this place by accident between stops walking through Tokyo. Took my family a while to figure out how to order food! We got dish #1, the pork ramen, at the suggestion of another customer. It was bliss. For me, waiting for my food with my family, surrounded by locals enjoying their lunch, feeling a little out of place and even slightly intimidated - it was awesome. Eating upstairs was a moment that just give me a true sense that I was really in Tokyo, experiencing something special with my family. Considering the reality of the language barrier, the service was friendly, and impressively fast. Not sure if I mentioned the food...

Pros: I am visiting from the US and this is one of the best ramen I've had. I've been to Japan before and this easily tops my list for a spicy miso ramen or Tantanmen in Tokyo. I make sure to come here everytime. The staff are very polite and the service is quick.

Cons: As mentioned by some other customers, there is an inconsistency in the Gyoza texture. But still quite delicious.

At times, few customers can be very noisy when talking.

Before you get in, make sure you don't see a young Japanese girl with ponytail is not working at the hall. I and my friends visited the shop for our late lunch and I've met the most horrible person in my life. Once she noticed we're not Japanese, her eyes and attitude changed dramatically as if she's talking to a group of dirty stray dogs. Even though I can speak Japanese quite well, I couldn't understand her explanation about options(depth of soup & hardness of noodle) because she deliberately muttered very fast. All my friends in the table can't speak or understand Japanese language but they told me the same thing that they would never forget that Japanese girl's disrespectful eyes. By the way, their salt ramens were plain but miso ramens were below the average. Hope this review will help you save your precious time.

주변구경을 하느라 늦은 점심을 먹으러 갔는데 홀서빙하는 키 작고 꽁지머리 묶은 여자 알바 때문에 정말 어이없는 경험을 했습니다. 우리 일행이 외국인(특히 아시안)이란 걸 알자마자 마스크 위로 보이는 눈빛이 마치 떠돌이 개떼 쳐다보는 눈빛처럼 경멸하는 눈빛으로 바뀌더니 주문받을 때 스프 농도나 면 익히는 정도를 확인하면서도 일부러 말을 빨리 하고 웅얼거려서 몇번이나 물어보게 하더군요. 일본이라고 다 친절한게 아니란 건 알지만, 일본어를 못하는 일행들이 그 여자애 눈빛만 보고도 하도 살벌하니까 제 눈치를 보면서 왜 저러냐고 물어보더군요. 민폐를 끼치거나 시끄럽게 소란을 떤 것도 아니고 귀찮게 뭐 달란 요청을 한 것도 아닌데 사람을 마치 바퀴벌레처럼 쳐다보는 그 눈빛과 태도 때문에 정말 최악의 서비스를 겪게 돼서 정말 불쾌했습니다. 참고로 라멘맛은 시오라멘은 평균, 미소라멘은 평균 이하입니다. 시간낭비하지...
