This place is an absolute disaster. Overpriced restaurant with poor service quality. I advise against spending your hard-earned money here. I would rate this place a solid zero stars, if I could.
After reading some negative reviews, we still decided to give Orlando a try because we thought we could tolerate slow service as long as the food was good. However, after experiencing Orlando firsthand, I now understand why there is such a strange mix of one-star and five-star reviews. I'm not one to typically write reviews, but I feel compelled to do so this time.
First and foremost, I have to say that this place definitely has an inner circle vibe. Unless you already know the master chef through social media to the extent that you know his personality, I can assure you that your dining experience will be uncomfortable. As mentioned in previous reviews, there was no drink menu available, and there was no server at the restaurant! So, when the master chef oddly and bluntly asked us, "Anything to drink?", we had to order our drinks on the spot. He didn't offer any information willingly, so we had to put in extra effort to find out what kinds of drinks were available and how much, etc. While you'll be able to place your initial drink order, getting his attention for a second drink or anything thereafter requires significant effort. What made it even more awkward was that the master chef engaged in meaningful conversations and exchanged smiles with some of his regular customers. Maybe this is just his personality, but you have to be prepared to feel like a child who was accidentally invited to a birthday party where you don't know anyone and have to beg attention from other kids desperately.
The second issue is stinginess. The master chef only allows customers to order two pasta dishes per group, and they're only served at the end of the meal. But why? Is it because he doesn't want customers to fill up before the end of the meal so that they'll order more drinks or for his operational efficiency? This place has a long waitlist to get a dinner reservation, so why is he running it without any servers or supporting chefs? No one wants to dine at a place without any service unless the prices are reasonable. While the food here isn't bad, the problem is that it's overpriced for what you get. Personally, I believe that the dining experience encompasses not only the food but also the service, so I wish they would clearly state somewhere upfront that this place is solely operated by the...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences I have ever had at this restaurant. In fact foods were not that bad. The service was so poor, asking what we want to drink, but no drink menu was offered. We had to order drinks without knowing what they have and how much. We also had to order everything but we could not distinguish what was main meal and appetiser. Waiter could have explained the meal. Pasta was suggested to eat after the main meal. I do not want to eat pasta after the main meal. Plus, waiter forgot our order, but no apology. We would never ever...
Read moreSlow service and poor tasting food, overall a mediocre culinary experience. The restaurant proposes an uninspired menu and each dish is mostly a hit or miss. A special mention for the pasta served at the end of the meal (!!!), probably one of the worst pastas I’ve had in Tokyo, extremely overcooked and insipid, a perfect ending for a terrible meal. As an italian myself, there are many great italian restaurants in Tokyo, do yourself a favor and stay clear...
