Oryu — Restaurant in Tokyo

This is the third day we stay in Japan, and this store is the best meal we had here.

I ordered beef burger meat. Even though the sauce (red wine sauce maybe) is a little bit salty for me, it still tastes flavourful. With the burger meat, the taste would really whet your appetite.

My boyfriend ordered the most expensive fired pork. It's crispy and juicy. The best way to taste the fired pork is just with mashed radish and shoyu.

I also had boiled eggplant. The taste is refreshing, and not like common eggplant dishes, their eggplants are perfectly cooked.

【2024年5月、訪問】

2024年のGWも終盤、天気も良かったこともあり、この日はとんかつを食べようとこちらに足を伸ばしました。

聞くところによると、以前に訪問した「大五」で修業された方が引き継いだとのことですが、大五時代に一旦「大五」に移転し、その場所を引き継がれたようです。

「大五」を訪問したのは2017年12月であり、確かとんかつ百名店にも選ばれていたように思います。 そのタイミングでは「岩中ロースとんかつ定食」に「カキフライ」を2つトッピングして楽しんでいました。 詳細の記憶はないのですが、美味しかったのは覚えているという感じです。

今回は昼12時前頃に訪問。 店内は入り口近くと奥の両方に座席があり、一人の私は入り口近くのテーブルに案内されました。 まるでカウンターのように一人客でも入りやすいスペースです。

メニューを拝見すると、

・とんかつ定食 150g 1,300円 / 200g 1,550円 ・生姜焼き定食 150g 1,300円 / 200g 1,550円 ・海老フライ定食 1,400円 ・和風豚キムチ定食 1,450円 ・鶏もも唐揚げ定食 1,300円 ・鶏もも唐揚げのチキン南蛮定食 1,400円

などの定食に加え、トッピングとして、

・和牛メンチかつ 1個 850円 ・海老フライ 1本 280円 ・やま幸のまぐろトロかつ 1個 650円 ・ほたてフライ 1個 650円 ・かきフライ 1個 750円 ・唐揚げ 2個 500円 ・半熟煮たまご 1個 250円

などがラインナップ。 後から気づいたのですが、「やま幸」のまぐろを扱うとんかつ屋というのは初めて聞きました。

Friendly staff and chef. After the meal the chef spent some time to chat with me and they indeed have the best gyukatsu in my opinion.

The gyukatsu which you have to reserve is 100% worth it. If I were to come again I would get double. That’s just how good it was.

The tuna, shrimp and minced beef were all fried perfectly as well. Highly recommend the minced beef and tuna.

As for the pork loin, it is still good but I think it’s best to get the rest that I mentioned above as they were...
