We decided to come to eat Italian as we were a bit tired of Japanese food. As an Italian living in England I am ready for everything when it comes to eating Italian good abroad. We ordered a green salad, a calzone, two pizzas and some spaghetti with tomato sauce. The food was overall nice, just the calzone was slightly disappointing as mostly filled with ricotta. However there were three aspects I felt unhappy with: First, we were forced to order a drink per person; this is not clearly described in the drinks menu and not all drinks were available either. So we ended with lots to drink, a bit forced down the throat.
Second, the dishes arrived one at a time. Italian cousine requires all guests to eat at the same time, each eating their own dish. The pizza was quite sloppy so difficult to share. It is not a type of cousine to share and when the waitress asked, we made clear that we did not want to share the dishes. However the second dish arrived when my husband had finished his pizza and so on. Finally, when the moment of paying arrived we were shown the bill for a couple of seconds for then Being left with a neutral receipt of the total.
As I eat regularly outside, I always check my bills as often and often again I have been given errors. Just two days ago I was given a bill without breakfast and I corrected the owner of the onsen to charge us more. I am just pedantic, I want to pay the correct figure, not more not less.
So in summary, this is a place with good food, slightly overpriced for the common Japanese meal, same price as we would get in London but a bit disappointing in regards to the service rules set by the management.
As for being the best margherita in the world, that is highly subjective. Every italian likes pizza in a different way and for me the dough was too thin in the centre resulting...
Read morePRE: that’s so disappointing to see that all the “one star reviews “ come from people who didn’t enter/eat or talking about “you need to order one drink”. If you are a tourist and you don’t know how it works in Tokyo, please don’t do a no-sense review… this place should be definitely more than 4,2 stars.
First time there yesterday dinner. I’m Italian and actually I don’t really like the heavy Napoli pizza that you often find in Tokyo. This is one of the best pizza I ever tried in the city! It’s super light (if you take just a normal Margherita lol) and it’s so tasty! Giancarlo pizza is just top and also the one with mortadella and ricotta. I wanted to try also one pasta and chose the pacchetti with tomatoes and ricotta and it was superb! The chef worked in one of the most famous pizzeria in Napoli, “dal presidente”. Must try if you want an...

Located in a prime area with Azabudai Hills, numerous embassies, and luxury hotels nearby, this is a must-visit spot for pizza lovers. Due to its popularity, I highly recommend making a reservation in advance!
One dish you absolutely must try is their signature “Giancarlo” menu items: •Giancarlo Risotto A saffron rice risotto infused with the rich flavors of slow-roasted bone marrow—pure umami indulgence. Since it takes time to prepare, I recommend ordering it early! •Giancarlo Pizza (White Pizza) Made with house-cured porchetta ham, mozzarella, truffle paste, and egg. Despite its generous use of truffle, the flavors are well-balanced and refined, resulting in a luxurious yet elegant dish. This is an absolute must-try!
I highly recommend visiting this restaurant—you...
