SCHOOL BUS COFFEE STOP NAKAMEGURO — Restaurant in Tokyo

I read about this place in a guidebook I picked up earlier in the day and decided to check it out for an afternoon snack and coffee.

The espresso tonic I had was delicious. The foam on the top was a unique touch and there was a hint of sweetness, which was pleasantly unexpected.

The crumble cake and ice cream weren't bad either.

My friend wasn't crazy about the lemonade soda since it had honey in it and was a bit too sweet. I enjoyed it though but would have also liked if the menu mentioned there was honey added, as it's not everyone's cup of tea.

Space is cute but did feel a bit sparse. The service was also alright but I did think it was odd we had to be seated first before ordering when the menu isn't large.

I first visited this establishment in Kyoto, I fell in love with the vibe, the coffee & food. When I learned they had a newly opened location in Tokyo, close to where I was staying, I made it a point to visit. The menu is very short…3 items for a breakfast and 3 items available for lunch. We got there in time for lunch so we ordered The Elvis. I was hesitant at first with the combination of peanut butter, grilled banana, bacon, jam on a bagel. A little savory, a little sweet—IT WAS UNBELIEVABLY DELICIOUS. The vibe here is consistent with their Kyoto location & the decor is similar. I enjoyed my experience here. It’s a coffee shop that’s part of a company that occupies the building that does remodeling (I think). Regardless the cafe is great with lots of drink options and some sweets to enjoy. I went with a drip coffee which was done well, and the cheesecake was a heavy lean into New York style in terms of taste (a bit sour). The ambiance is nice with lots of windows and high ceilings.
