A High-Class Kaiten Sushi Experience
Nestled in the basement near Shibuya Station, it redefines the kaiten sushi experience with its modern approach to ordering and an impressive atmosphere. Guests are welcomed into a high-class setting that combines sophistication with the convenience of technology, allowing patrons to place their orders via a user-friendly capacitive tablet available in English and several other languages. This feature significantly reduces language barriers, making it accessible for both locals and tourists.
While the prices are on the higher side, with most items starting at around 500 yen, the quality of the sushi justifies the cost. The hand-rolled tuna, particularly the fatty and lean yamayuki bluefin tuna, was a standout, showcasing the freshness and craftsmanship that sushi enthusiasts crave. Even the kiddy menu offers delightful options like karaage and deep-fried octopus, ensuring that diners of all ages can enjoy quality food.
One of the highlights of my visit was the ginger ale, which was undoubtedly the best I have tasted in Japan—if not the world. It strikes a perfect balance between sweetness and spice, elevating the dining experience even further.
Overall, it provides a unique and elevated sushi dining experience that is well worth a visit. Whether you’re a sushi aficionado or just looking for a high-quality meal in a chic setting, this restaurant is a...
Read moreIt’s not a Kaiten sushi (good thing). You order from iPad and the itamae will craft your orders. We were traveling with a 6 year old so these types of places is all we could really do. An older chef led a trainee when we went and both were quite young. The trainee was nervous and made some mistakes but the price performance was extremely high. This is more of a full experience and each nigiri is cut/presented and seasoned vs other locations where it’s just sloppy cut fish + rice. This location also has a lot of small snacks for sake compared to others. The shibuya roll is a steal and a good way to end the meal. One thing to note and improve on: the chefs don’t give their 100% effort. For context Ive been a chef/restaurant owner and trained under big names sushi chefs. They forgot to make one of my orders and the head itamae made the piece after I pointed it out. It was wildly spectacular vs the other pieces I was eating. It was so good I told my wife to order it thinking the particular fish was just that special this day. However the piece she received (made by the trainee) was on a very different planet :D. Overall this is still amazing price to performance and very approachable with the iPad ordering/accept...
Read moreI had a very uncomfortable experience here. I had been to a similar location in Osaka and had a lovely experience for my first time at this brand of restaurant. But here I was treated strangely by the chef making my food. I noticed I was the only one who received an uncut ginger root and thought that was very weird. He also laughed with the other chef every time he served my sushi. It made me feel anxious to continue eating but I did not want to be rude as I do not wish to offend or disturb others as I am a tourist trying to learn and experience Japan for the first time. I just felt very unwelcome and mean-spirited vibes here. I will say the other waiters and service staff were very friendly and the food was delicious… I just do not know if something was wrong with the food I was served as every time I was served something it was very funny to the chef. That does not make me feel good at all about what I have consumed. I don’t want to assume it is because I was non Japanese (I am a black American) as I was not the only foreigner there, but that is probably the reason… I prefer the amazing service I experienced in Osaka to this location. I regret spending so much money where I was clearly...
