Get a ticket at the machine to the left of the entrance and the waiter will call your number using a sign. The ticket machine closes at 8:30pm. My husband and I were staying at the hotel right above and saw long lineups every morning even before the restaurant opened so we decided to try around closing time. We grabbed a ticket at 8:20pm, went upstairs to our room for about 20 minutes, came back down to the line and our number was called in less than 10 minutes. I believe there were about 5-6 people ahead of us. So a total of 30 minutes wait is amazing because theres a sign that states that the wait time can get up to 2 hours!! You can also see your name on the wait list on the ticket machine screen to check your place in line. This place has amazing sashimi! The rolls were nothing to write home about. I would suggest to stick with sashimi or sushi because it’s so fresh and one of the top we’ve ever had. They have a ton of varieties of sushi here. I thought they would have a small menu, but it was huge! I wish we had time to come several more times to try all the varieties of fish that we don’t see at home in Toronto. You must try the medium fatty and fatty tuna sashimi! So delicious! And make sure you eat it with sake ;)

We came early before it opened and got our ticket from the post in front of the restaurant, and fortunately we were 8th on line. Be sure to wait on the bench across the restaurant, as the line starts there before the ticket dispenser is brought out. Once you get your ticket you can come back when the restaurant opens. I think you can also make reservations. When you enter the restaurant, the staff give you a nice warm welcome. You can order from your phone by scanning the QR code. We ordered the deluxe sushi set, sashimi, salmon roe and octopus, and a fish avocado salad. Everything was so fresh and delicious, with flavors that were very well balanced. The warm egg custard and crab salad served in the beginning were amazing and had wow factor on their own. I almost wanted another portion. We enjoyed everything! Service was great with a staff that appreciates your visit. Upon leaving, they acknowledge you with thanks. I believe you can order takeout if you prefer not to wait. They are located in the Mark City building in Shibuya on the upper level.

Would have given (hachi) 8 ⭐️ for their food… it’s so good Q one hour before opening time to ensure you get a reservation ticket. Lunch Q starts 10.15am and dinner Q starts 4.15pm. However note that I have given a “horrible 3” stars for service not that the dining service was bad but the reservation service was TERRIBLE spelled all out in CAPITALs and reason is We had a 7th place in reservation for ‘Table of 4’ when our number called the server said “oh you sit separately. We said NO! she said then you wait 30 minutes‼️There are more than 10 tables inside so WHAT WAS SHE THINKING⁉️we ended up waiting and had to rush our hotel check out etc and spoilt my dining experience BUT the saving grace was the 🍣 was out of this world. But NO not all is forgiven. The owner needs to know. Unlikely I’ll return unless I’m alone. Or the owner provides me a logical good explanation WHY 7th position cannot get my table 🤔

The food was excellent and was very good for the price. Make sure to get there when it opens or a little before or else you may have to wait 30 minutes to an hour. We got there at 11:20am and had to wait around 30 minutes. There is a machine right outside the store you just put how many members of the group there are and if you prefer a counter or table and it gives you a number. The sushi is ordered via a tablet and you can pick whether you want to order a set determined by the chef or a la carte. I recommend ordering from a set because it is a bit cheaper than what you would pay a la carte and it also comes with a miso soup. The food came very fast within 5 minutes and the sushi was very fresh with a generous portion. The set I ordered was 2000 Yen and it came with 10 different pieces of sushi. I highly recommend this place if you are ever in Shibuya.
