The sheer amount of food (over 20 courses!) makes this astonishing value for a Tokyo omakase of this quality. The restaurant is a little worn, and the vibe makes you expect a local joint, were it not for the overwhelming number of tourists. Both the cooked dishes and sushi were delicious and often hyper-seasonal, though it sometimes felt they lacked lacking that final flourish of sophistication. Satoshi Ichijo, the itamae, is friendly with serviceable English, and though it does feel a bit rushed due to the overwhelming number of dishes, it’s never oppressively so. Overall, not somewhere where the atmosphere will impress a date, but easily holds its own in the value and quality of its excellent food.

I would say that it is a solid 4.5 stars experience for the price. Expect to pay around 35,000 yen if you drink sake there. One of the best sushis I ever had and definitely the best anago I had. You eat quite a few pieces, maybe over 20. Got slightly annoyed at the end as there is a clear gap in the service for regulars/locals abd foreigners. But I guess this how they roll. I just wished the gap was a little smaller. While we received 2 extra pieces and 3 makimonos as a "complimentary" service. "Regular" around us got literally 5 extra pieces and 6 makimonos. That made me feel a little awkward. Other than that stellar service, some English to help the experience and great chef.

I am no sushi expert, that’s for sure. But this was something else than your ordinary take away place back home in Stockholm. The textures, the freshness of the fish and shellfish, the temperature and seasoning of the rice and the overall artisanship was just amazing. Chef Ichijo was also very friendly though the language barrier was an obstacle we had to overcome with sign language and/or smiles. He also, without us asking, cut the pieces in half when he noticed that they were more than a mouthful for some in our company of four. I would love to come back.

This is a classic sushi restaurant in the old style, but it has been modernised in the sense that it’s spotlessly clean and the chef understands that if you’re not Japanese you need to be welcomed and engaged. Long gone are the days where you go to a restaurant like this and feel like a real outsider. The chef goes out of his way to make sure that you feel welcomed and without doubt the food is exceptional. An overall lovely experience with all of the sushi and sashimi that you would expect in a restaurant at this level. Superbly flesh seafood served at a very nice tempo. All in all a really lovely evening. If you’ve been enjoying Michelin starred food from all over the world, you’re really gonna enjoy the authenticity of this place - from the sushi cups to the earthenware cups for beer, you’ll be delighted by the artisanal quality of...
