Small longrunning local sushi joint. Saw lots of locals shortly after opening lunch service. Note that they are often not open on weekends (Sat/Sun), and only offer dinner service on the Saturdays they are open. Check their website for days they are open.

Went in for lunch, they only have one thing on the menu which is 1200 yen for a bowl of rice and various sushi + miso soup. I believe they have an upstairs space for additional seating but I'm uncertain of the amount of seating there is up there. There is maybe around 10 seats in front of the sushi chef downstairs. Best chance is shortly after noon after the first wave of locals begin leaving.

You don't get a choice in what you eat here, but it's a nice local spot if you wanna try it...

Delicious sushi, great time eating with the locals, only 6000 yen for two. We took the 'foreigner' course which included a sushi set, a delicious fish soup, pickles, and a cup of green tea – maybe we should have taken what the locals had, but no complaints at all, it was perfect. The plum wine is delicious and they pour generously; the umeboshi sour is weird.

A local guy who sat next to us said we were lucky and you usually need to reserve (in Japanese because they speak very little English) – I would say definitely give it a try if you are in the neighborhood. Everyone is very friendly and if there is only one seat for the two of you, they will put an extra chair and...

Truly a hidden gem. If you speak to any expats living in Tokyo - everyone will have “the place” to go and I got recommended by one. Seems to be popular place visited mainly by the local businessman after work.

I haven’t tried every place in Tokyo ever since I moved here but this place is everything I ever asked for and more. Theres no English menu and some people whip out their phone to go over some conversational pieces. I trusted the master to do everything for me. Please come to this amazing humble place with an open mind and I guarantee that you’ll leave with a smile - sushi Tomi now have a very special place...

A lady showed us the way to our table, though she does not speak much english but we were able to communicate through body language, super nice lady though. There is not much in the menu so we just order what we think has the most types of sushi offered, food was delicious but they don’t have much variation. The picture below of what I ordered is what they have in the restaurant, I wish there were other types for me to try. You don’t have to stay completely silent since this place is quite famous with office workers after working hours so it does get pretty loud 😁
