Tachibana Sushi — Restaurant in Tokyo

My friend and I had a wonderful experience at this hidden gem! We sat at the counter and ordered a Sushi course (4800 yen) and Shukou course (3800 yen)! We also ordered a Futomaki (half size - 1500 yen) on the side.

The Sushi course was quite filling and came with a variety of fresh and tender Nigiri pieces that melted in my mouth! I loved watching the chef skillfully cut up the fish and prepare the individual Nigiri pieces! For the entree, I was served up brain pieces which was soaked in this sweet and vinegary soy sauce. I was hesitant at first but it was unexpectedly quite nice. I had to close my eyes for the experience but texture, taste and uniqueness were tres bien!

My friend had the Shukou course and she quite enjoyed the sashimi and Nigiri samplers!

Futomaki was the best I've had! We have sushi rolls back in Australia but this was like eating the ultimate sushi roll with cucumber, egg, salmon egg, tuna and different kinds of fishes thrown into one roll. There were different textures and flavours from each part of the futomaki that I was trying to pick up! I really enjoyed it!

Overall, the price was quite reasonable for the amount of fresh fish you get! I would personally recommend the Sushi course and Futomaki! My friend and I really wanted to try the Maguro Tartare as well but were too full to order it! Anyone who does order the tartare dish, please let me know what you think!
