Tamachi Torishin — Restaurant in Tokyo

Visited in Feb earlier this year and had a good experience as a single diner although a slightly rough start and somewhat unfriendly welcome from the staff. Visited now again with my family (2 parents and 2 children) on 3 October ‘24 and the experience was not the same as my visit in Feb. Seems the staff have changed from the last visit in Feb ‘24 and the food wasn’t as good as the visit back in Feb. For example the Yakitori didn’t have yuzu Kosho or grated fresh wasabi as it was on the first visit - skewers we very basic and at times over seasoned ie too much salt. Sadly won’t visit again as thought I’d found a gem hidden amongst the many Yakitori options that are available. To make things sour at the end we were charged for additional items which we never had and the bill is only in Japanese so if you don’t check it you’ll end up paying more than you should. Amazing food, wine and service. This is the place to go if you want to enjoy real japanese Yakitori. Great atmosphere and no rush. Highly recommended, love it.
