THAI DINING Plaloma — Restaurant in Tokyo

I love supporting local businesses, and I was excited to try some Thai food in Tokyo. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed with the food. I had high hopes for vibrant flavors, but the dishes lacked the spice and umami I was craving. The food felt quite bland, with little seasoning to bring out the depth of flavors typical in Thai cuisine. I ordered the khao soi noodle soup, which was fine, but again, it didn’t stand out in terms of taste.

On a positive note, the service was lovely. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and spoke a little English, which made for a welcoming atmosphere. It's clear they want to provide a good experience, and I really appreciate their efforts. However, despite the great service, the food didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I was hoping for more excitement in terms of flavor, but unfortunately, the meal was a bit too one-note. I wanted to rate it higher because of the kind staff, but when it comes to food, flavor is key. So, while I support the effort, I can’t give it more than a 4/5 overall. I have been to a lot of thai restaurant in japan but this was the WORST restaurant i have tried so far.

Tomyam noodles only tasted sour without any tomyam taste and the tomyam fried rice was dry and hard to swallow. The prawns in the dishes were only cooked with water and just placed on the dishes which tasted so awful.

And the owner and waitress were so RUDE. Asked for some extra plates and she just shouted no to us. The waitress just took away our cutleries and placed it in the counter without even a word. Worst attitude and bad service.

Doesn’t even deserve a star.

I came here for lunch with a friend and we each ordered a lunch set. The food was so so and the atmosphere was alright. However what was really disappointing was the service. These Thai servers kept telling us to hurry up and expect us to finish our lunch within 30 minutes after sitting down. We had to ignored them several times, and after the 30 minutes mark, they took our water away! Very rude service, not what I expected would happen in Japan.
