Tokiwa — Restaurant in Tokyo

This is a brilliant shitamachi shyokudo, a friendly, sometimes noisy canteen-style restaurant and drinking place with an amazingly extensive menu. It's much loved by locals, and is a very reasonably priced place to eat and drink. It has its own brand of draught beer, and the menu is so wide that it extends to five sides of closely typed A4 sheets. English is not spoken and the menu is entirely in Japanese. There is an excellent 800 yen set lunch which changes daily, and a personal favourite. It can sometimes be very busy. At these times there will be a line of folks waiting to enter and service may be slow, but it's worth the wait. ときわのサンポップ店です。 本店より大きいのに結構な割合で満席！！ メニューがすごく多くて、あれこれ頼んで入ると長居してしまいます。 お店の人は本店の方が好きです。こちらは皆いつも忙しそうに駆け回ってます！ 下の方が、客層がお年寄りが多くて老人ホームみたいだと書いてる失礼な方がいますが、そんなことないです。 若者がいっぱいいる場所が好きなら渋谷にでも行ってください。 町屋は若くはないですが、とても温かみがあって活気のある町です。 ときわに来ている常連さんもみんな、楽しくいつも笑ってますよ！
