This is a brilliant shitamachi shyokudo, a friendly, sometimes noisy canteen-style restaurant and drinking place with an amazingly extensive menu. It's much loved by locals, and is a very reasonably priced place to eat and drink. It has its own brand of draught beer, and the menu is so wide that it extends to five sides of closely typed A4 sheets. English is not spoken and the menu is entirely in Japanese. There is an excellent 800 yen set lunch which changes daily, and a personal favourite. It can sometimes be very busy. At these times there will be a line of folks waiting to enter and service may be slow, but it's worth the wait.
