FINALLY I found 100% vegan mapo tofu in Japan! And it delivered 👍 It’s a new restaurant, so the owner is always there and is a cool guy to chat with. The serving size is good (though maybe not if you’re a big eater and show up super hungry) but you can get a huge serving of rice (just specify that you want large or extra large rice, it’s free of cost). Environment is very nice and the bathroom was super clean too. Will definitely come back whenever I’m in the area, it’s worth a detour just to eat here once in Tokyo!

I had the red chili mapo tofu with noodles, extra hot. It was a nice level of spice if you are used to eating very spicy food. The flavors were rich, noodles cooked to perfection.
We also had fried edamame for starters, and they were the best edamame ive ever had, despite just having salt and oil, they were just handled professionally and given due respect. If you are reading this, just stop reading and go it.
P.s. if you expect "american" portions, just order two - they are fairly...
