I had a horrible experience at this restaurant. Like another reviewer mentioned, the male server/bartender here is very rude. I had issues with their web reservations so I had my friend in Japan make a reservation for me over the phone. I am Japanese but I do not live in Japan. Turns out their system double booked us and he was very rude and told me that I would be charged for both reservations. He flat out told me I was incapable and it was my fault so I should obviously have to pay for my mistake. He said that systems don’t make mistakes and only people make mistakes. I told him that we would not be eating there and he told me that I would be charged double if I left. My friend who booked the reservation called the restaurant and spoke to the man at length. He finally agreed that if we stayed and had our meal, he would cancel the double appointment and not charge us. So we were kind of forced to eat there. I thought hey, at least the uni should be good. Don’t get me wrong, the food is okay. It’s mediocre, I’ve had worse and I’ve definitely had better. Your money would definitely be much better spent somewhere else and you can definitely get quality uni for less elsewhere. The final dish in the course: ikura and uni don was delicious but everything else was pretty plain. I was with a European friend, another reviewer mentioned they felt the male server was racist. I am not sure if that had anything to do with it, but he was terrible. Personally I feel you can get much better food and definitely much better service in Tokyo. Don’t waste...
Read moreSummary: Just saw another “victim” of this “place” . So this place tried to sell this “Uni specialist” image but this shop knows nothing about it. Service was the worst of all my 8 trips around the world in 2023. You better off buying uni from any Japanese supermarkets or fish markets.
I would give 0 star if there were such a choice available. As many reviews already mentioned, the food is just not fresh (some uni was almost watery) as per picture. And although the dishes didn’t really require much cooking, yet everything was very messy and poorly put together.
But the poor food quality is not the worst part, the most unbearable thing is the bad attitude of the male waiter. This is like my 15th times coming to Japan and I have been to countless cities from north to south, it is the first time in my life that I got to witness how bad services could get in Japan.
I felt that the male waiter here was a bit racist even though I already speak a bit of Japanese. More importantly, it’s not about the money, it’s the precious daily eating “quota” shouldn’t get wasted here. Normally I would not spend the time to write lengthy comment like this but as I love Japan so much, I honestly don’t want any tourists to waste their money/ time and ruin their happy memories about Japan.

Read moreMy partner and I had a reservation for 18:30. When we arrived the place was empty except for one couple in the corner. The restaurant itself is nice. This might be our fault but we did not read the fine print. As soon as we were seated, the hostess explained the menu for us and told us it’s required to order one drink each. While looking at the menu, my partner asked for water first. The hostess reiterated that we need to order a drink. My partner said he will but would like water first please. Water was not brought out or offered initially. I ordered the 9,900 set and was surprised to find out that I can only order it if we both order it. My partner wanted something else so I ended up just ordering the squid ink pasta. My partners dish came out first, he got the beef with cheese. We waited a little bit but it was getting cold so he ate first. He finished the entire dish and mine wasn’t ready yet. So I’m left picking at our appetizer (fries) while watching him eat. They take his empty plate away and mine finally arrives. Now he’s watching me eat while picking at the fries. Which by the way, are overly salty. I gave 2 stars because the squid ink pasta was decent. Overall, disappointing. Please note, there’s also a cover charge per person in the fine print. You’re better off getting uni...
