日高屋 is a gem that we only appreciate on our last night here in Roppongi. Even though we stay for 3 nights next door at remm and passing by here on a daily basis. We only went in when we were exhausted from a day trip.
First of all, it's open 24/7! They have picture photos for their entire menu! English menu is available as well.
This isn't a place for chit chat or to chill. You enter, eat and move on.
The staff are often too busy to sit you, so if you can find an empty spot, go ahead and take it. Order by touchscreen and you help yourselves to water.
During our visit, it's mostly filled with salary man after a long day at work. Ramen, fried rice and gyoza is the staple order. Consider having their affordable drinks.
My 天津飯 was disappointing, but hear me out. This remark came from my years of eating tenshinhan at Osaka Ohsho and it's no longer available, so I'm hunting for an alternative. Hidakaya's version is slightly on the sweet and sour side, whereas the one I'm fond of, is umami and savoury.
My mum's set of ramen with half serving of fried rice and gyoza was great! Something to take note of for further visit.
All in all, food standard and price point are a match. Just don't expect table service and friendly smiles.

The Menu is completely digital on an iPad, either in Japanese or English. The service is very friendly and brings your food and drinks very fast. It is a bit cheaper than most restaurants, and we went there 3 times in 1 week. Will visit at the next Japan...
