Uokushi Sakurasaku — Restaurant in Tokyo

After three years living in Tokyo, this izakaya on Iidabashi's main shopping street has become one of my absolute favorites. Their fresh fish with minimal preparation lets the amazing natural flavors shine through.The fish here is outstanding.

Every piece of salmon comes out perfectly grilled with crispy skin and tender, flaky interior that's to die for. All their fish options are beautiful and you can taste the difference fresh ingredients make. No heavy sauces, just expert grilling that highlights quality sourcing.

The drink prices are surprisingly reasonable compared to other Tokyo izakayas, and service is quick. I love that they let you choose your otoshi from options like pickled eggs or nuts instead of just giving you whatever.

This happend to be our first spot when we arrived in Japan during December 2023. We couldn't speak Japanese but there's a english menu and a friendly/funny male server who spoke English enough to get us through our dinner. The skewers, the drinks and service was good. Definitely should check...
