Finally an authentic izakaya experience with food for everyone. This place is exactly what Tokyo needed. Located right between Asakusa and Skytree, Nowhere is convenient from anywhere. The food is prepared with care by an actual chef. The service is warm and friendly. Tall people have to watch their heads on the low ceiling, but the upside is their ears will be closer to the great soundtrack playing in the background. While all the menu items I tried were delicious, the dish that stood out the most was the furofuki daikon. This is the sort of simple yet deeply Japanese dish that is impossible to find in vegan form. Likewise, I loved the piquant wasabi salad and wish I could have taken home a jar of the house-made mayo served with the crispy karaage. Appetizing, unique food like that, along with the amazing vibes, is what makes Izakaya Nowhere so special. I can see this small place being packed in the future, so get there now before the rest of the...
Read moreA wonderful experience in Tokyo, finally we managed to find a vegan restaurant with an authentic approach at the genuine Japanese cuisine. The place is little but tidy and cozy. The food is wonderful (honorable mention the cold tofu with salad and spicy seasoning). Plus the music taste by the owners is also original and very good, we've been able to listen to post rock, city pop, shoegaze, synth pop and modern jazz all while dining. The bill was about 4000 per person, keep in mind we got almost the whole menu and some drinks, so the price is absolutely reasonable. If you're in Tokyo you know how difficult it is to find some vegan meals, therefore, be sure to visit Nowhere if you're in this side of the city.

Read moreA great spot if you're around Skytree. The staff is kind and the menu has many options.
However, the food lacks flavour and sometimes just doesn't land. While the potato salad & ham katsu were tasty, the yuzu kosho gyoza, the Karaage & the Daikon were not really worth it. The french fries were just undercooked, which is a shame.
If you're a tourist and/or have never been to a more traditional izakaya, this place is great. I'm happy to see a fully plant based izakaya in this part of town and if you're around go check it out. That being said, I wouldn't go again due to...
