Fantastic place to kick back next to the fire after a day on snow or just relax with some coffee and cake. Large range of bottled beers and local handcrafts on offer. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Book in advance if you are a large group as it's often busy. The beef stew on rice hot pot is sensational... and I recommend the Yamagata beef skewers as well.

Best place to chill and read a book on a rest day if you are not skiing or snowboarding. Having tried the other cafes, this one wins them all in terms of ambience.

Prime ski village vibes, delicious food quickly served, locally brewed beer, and a welcoming environment for Westerners and all tourists. I highly recommend this restaurant after a day of skiing or onsen hopping. It offers a delightful reprieve from the cold, or heat, and offers warm drinks in the winter and cool ones in the summer. Accomodating staff make this a pleasing cozy...
