Katsugyo Chibaya — Restaurant in Yokohama

DO NOT COME HERE! Owner is dishonest with their pricing!! The food was good but they cheated us in the price. Everything on their menu has a price except for one large section of their menu that has “600 yen” for that section and doesn’t have a price next to each item (and there were a lot of items - around 15-20). Turns out, it was “from 600 yen” (ie. 600 yen and up) vs. 600 yen for any of the dishes in that section (again, other sections have prices for every item). This is super confusing and you are caught by surprise when you get the bill. I recommend they put a price next to every item for that section like they did for the rest of the menu. When pricing isn’t clear - they can say whatever they want after-the-fact (which they did). No one like surprises when they get the bill. When we did get the bill - the items were super expensive - even for small items that cost much less at other places. We felt cheated and when we provided feedback - the old lady (likely the restaurant owner) tried to rush us out of the restaurant. I do not recommend you come here due to bad and dishonest pricing! They also over charged us on the drinks (which has prices on the menu) but when we questioned it - they said the price has changed and the price on the menu was old pricing. Really? What a dishonest business!!! They were also super rude in their responses to our questions too!! I do not recommend you...

The Hidden Gem of Shinyamashita.

Usually I will go out to Chiba once in awhile to get some good fish, but now I can come here! We had the kaisendon, and it was a great amount of fish for the price, as well as the fish being quite fresh and tasty.

The staff was quite friendly and warm. We came around 1, and later on learned that they serve lunch until they run out of lunch. They prepare for about 40 people, so get there early if you want to be sure, but there is usually some left around 1.

Depending when you go there may be some wait, as people in the know know that this place is delicious, cheap, and good.

Would you expect a place like this in a place that like?...

以前から来たかったお店活魚千葉屋さんに寄らせて頂きました

お隣がお魚屋さんでそのお魚屋さんがやっているお店です

お店は元町・中華街駅から徒歩10分くらいで住宅街にあります

さて、11時30分開店で5分後に来たらもうすでに満杯で2人並んでおり次に並ばせて頂きました

その後に4人並び計8人灼熱の中、外で待ちます(笑)

３０分待ってようやく呼ばれ店内へ

店内大きいテーブル席が3つあり奥には小上がりがあります

そうそう、並んでる時に注文を聞いてくれ 料理は比較的にすぐに運ばれて来ます

今回アジフライ定食ご飯大盛りを注文

連れは刺身盛合せを注文

先に刺身盛合せが運ばれ見てみたら刺身が凄い量

いや、山積みってやつかな(笑)

色々な種類があり何種類あるんだろう？と思ったがフォロワーさんがすでに来ており10種類と書いておりビックリでしたね

しかも部位に寄って3切れ入ってるのもあるし恐るべし刺身盛合せでした

マグロ、イカ等を少し頂いたがとても新鮮で美味しかったですね

刺身好きには是非オススメします

さて、さてアジフライも運ばれて来ました

こちらアジフライ４個付いてました

４個っても2枚のアジフライを2つに分けた感じですね

正直丸々2枚の形の方が好みだが旨ければ何でも良い(笑)

ご飯大盛りが凄い量で小鉢(ところてん）、お新香も付いて1300円はお安い

アジフライはふわふわのサクサクで間違いなく美味しかったですね

ソースをたっぷりつける派ですから沢山かけて大満足でした

スタッフさん皆さん愛想が良く丁寧で居心地も最高でしたね

次回は開店前に来て並ばなきゃで...
