Other than the location, this has to be the worst capsule/hostel I have ever stayed in. Feel free to take a look at my other reviews as I have stayed in quite a few across Japan.
Firstly, there is no elevator and the hostel is on the 3rd floor- have fun carrying your luggage up the stairs.
The self check-in system is long and complicated. There is a myriad of questions it asks you and some definitely don't need to be asked. The system sometimes also lags and could be slow, delaying the check-in process as well. Since it doubles as the system to unlock the main door, I have seen even Japanese locals struggle with checking in while waiting to get into the hostel.
Next, there are 2 types of lockers: long and narrow, and a square-shaped one. You can use both, but they are both small. Most people have their luggage outside of their lockers as there's no way your items would possibly fit unless you only bring a small backpack. These lockers are right next to the beds so it is impossible to not make noise while grabbing something. This is terrible since I do not want to bother people while grabbing/packing my things and I am sure people don't want to be woken up either.
The washroom only has 3 sinks, 2 toilets for men, 1 toilet for women, 1 shower for men, and 1 shower for women. This is not nearly enough for peak hours and everyone will be getting in the way of each other.
Because everything is co-ed, there is no where to change unless you change within your capsule or in the shower room.
Lastly, all amenities need to be paid for at the front of the hostel as they do not provide any free towels, toothbrushes, razors, etc. It is unmanned and self-paid. I understand this is supposed to be an economical place to stay at, but they should at least provide free towels and toothbrushes.
Extra: The backside of my pillow had what looked like pubes or armpit hair- definitely not sanitary. I could not complain as there are no staff around to talk to.
The only good thing is the location as this hostel is 5 minutes away from the nearest station. My advice is not to stay here. Pay 1000 yen more a night and find...
Read moreLocation is good. Price is cheap. But other than that it has no any other pros.
First of all it's on the third floor without an escalator or elevator. So if you have a big luggage like I did, too bad for you, you've gotta carry it by yourself.
It's a self check-in hostel. However the process is quite a lot, and you can't do it before your arrival.
Check-in time is 16:00-22:00. And you can't leave your baggage before check-in time. (It does allow you to leave your baggage after check-out until 8pm on thr check-out date) Not sure if this means you can't check-in later than 22:00.
It has only 2 shower room for 60 beds. Good that it's not fully booked otherwise imagine waiting for shower.....
It is small. When I arrived there are 4 people standing by the door and i could bearly get in with my luggage.
10/10 DO NOT recommend it. I'd rather pay 2-3x price for...
Read moreCozy place. A tv that can either be a good thing or a bad one if ppl turn it up too loud and spend hours on it zapping around. In the same time in that same common area it’s forbidden to talk, as this place is supposed to be for eating and working, but then they place a tv with Netflix and YouTube and all that stuff in that same room. It’s too hot in the dormitory with too thick blankets at the same time. Otherwise the view from the common space is great and there’s a balcony for smoking on the other side of the apartment. In the end I worked in the stairway…also they place the ppl close to each other even if there’s a lot o space to keep them at distance. So half of the dorm was empty but still I had a snoring guy sleeping right underneath my bed…this can...
