I visited Nakshatra twice. First time the manager was behaving very nicely as we went thr with our South Indian friends may be that's the reason he was so nice. Food was OK not so good not so bad . Seeing the good behaviour and politeness of the manager yesterday we visited again with our guests.
While ordering food my guest requested the manager that we are very hungry so pls try to bring the order little early. Then too he came back with one order after 20minutes.( Here I want to suggest the manager that atleast offer a papad or some peanuts or anything which is affordable to you. ) Secondly ,we ordered Kerala laccha paratha which was a frozen paratha which they microwaved and gave to us with curry. When we were eating that paratha it was hard and tasteless ( If you are charging good price for paratha then at least try to give fresh Paratha else remove it from your menu. ) Next coming towards customer delight , In front of us the manager very rudely replied to a Lady who just asked him about the area where she can do hand wash. Might be she came there before also and would have asked the same question but the behaviour of the manager was totally unacceptable. Its your duty to reply back nicely if someone is asking you may be 10th time. In Japan, I have never seen anyone speaking so rudely especially with customers. I visited many Indian,Nepali,Japanese, Chinese,Italian restaurants but nowhere saw a person like this. Try to change your attitude may be you are running this restaurant from many years but that doesn't matter at all if you are rude with your customers as they are the source of running your restaurant.
Its a long post but I'm very disappointed with your behavior and hospitality. Food quality can be adjusted but no compromise with behavioural issues. And I will never visit Nakshatra again also I will never...
Read moreThe owner/manager had no manners. I hoped that living in Japan, would atleast help you realize that the customer service is important. Food was okay but the service was slow as many of my colleagues wanted drinks and they asked 2~3 times but he didn't respond them politely instead gave them a rude look. One of my Colleagues went to take one more chair but he said the space was enough for 5 people (which clearly wasn't) and he didn't let him take that one chair despite the place being not so crowded. I felt bad when he ordered me to move to the left side just because my colleague on the right didn't have enough space. I mean only if you gave us one or 2 more chairs it would've been fine. Being insulted in front of my colleagues was humiliating especially when he asked me what the dish was and I couldn't answer.
Also when he was serving naan, he could see that there's not enough space on the table but still kept the naan basket on top of the fork and spoon.
Congratulations, you lost one customer as I don't think I'd come again and won't even bring my friends no matter how good your food is (It wasn't that good too!) Mango lassi had little to no mango in it. And guess what, the chutney in south Indian course was too little. I was told that there would be naan in the south Indian course for my colleagues but there wasn't any! Lemon rice also had little lemon in it. I could go on and on but I won't.

Read moreWhile somewhat difficult to find the first time (look for a narrow sign beneath which is a narrow staircase to the 2nd floor), Nakshatra is nevertheless a gem to discover. Eschewing the typical extranational Indian restaurant standard menu options and flavors, Nakshatra kicks the cuisine up a notch with fresh ingredients and refined flavors, serving both Northern and Southern Indian dishes with masterful cooking skills. The traditional menu items can still be found, but somehow in improved form, making it difficult to return to typical such restaurants with their everyday tastes. The tandoori chicken was so perfectly tender and juicy, one would be tempted to make a meal of that alone, but leave space to try the chana chilly, a highly unusual and beautifully light and tasty fried chick pea dish. The Mutton Do Pyasa curry was fantastic, with none of the overly chewy mutton so common in many restaurants. It was beautiful over the vegetable biriyani, which again could be a meal in its own right but serves as the ideal accompaniment to the smooth and perfectly spiced curries. And to top it off, Ravi, the restaurant's proprietor, greets every guest like family, helping to make Nakshatra the archetypal ideal of a restaurant: a home away from home, in which you needn't lift a finger to eat comfort food better than you could make...
