Hotel JAL City Kannai, Yokohama — Hotel in Yokohama

Only problem was the airconditioning system. We checked in the hotel after strolling around Tokyo and Yokohama during the summer heat and were expecting to cool down and refresh ourselves after a tiring day and before heading out again for the weekend fireworks, but after entering the keycard and after opening the AC there was no cold air coming out, not even a soft breeze. We contacted front desk and they told us to wait for a few minutes because the AC might still be warming up or something but 15-20mins passed and there was nothing. We were sweating inside our room. We called front desk again and they told us that they will check on our room. They only checked the vents by posing in front the vent and told us that there was little cold air coming out, and brought a small electric fan and told us to use it for the meantime until the room cools down because they said the AC might work better later and also said that it was the "same with other rooms". They told us that if it was not fixed, we may be able to switch our room. We left the fan running and went out again but we weren't able to watch the fireworks because of this inconvenience. After 2hours or so, we went back to the hotel and the room was not even cold. It was just cool enough and only because of the electricfan. We didn't even bother to request for a change of room because we were already tired and what's the use if the staff already told us that all room's AC temperature are like that? (The ac panel says it was already on full blow and at 19°C but it feels like not even on a level 1 blow and about...

i have booked this hotel for 2 nights and before i arrived here i kinda trust the JAL brand, which disappointed me quite a lot after i checked in this room #318. Although people might have some randomly confidence in Japanese hotel hygiene standards but this one was truly an exception. I don’t feel comfortable when the first time i stepped in cause the room is sooo dusty. The window frame is dusty, so is the curtain (how long has it been used?? ) . there is mold in the bathroom which is why there is a bit smell of moldness.

The room is very poor in hygiene standard so i have to wash and clean the cups myself. This is the first time i have done so in Japan. what a shame. I just wonder the reception staff arranged this room 318 for us was because that we are not Japanese so that’s why they arranged in such a lower floor room with poor hygiene standard.

well, the room was quiet enough to sleep and the breakfast was pretty good especially they provided hamburger...

予約後にこちらのコメントを読んで不安でしたが、無料Wi-Fiのスピードがちょっと遅いかなと思うくらいで、他はそんなに悪いとは思わなかった。

オークラニッコーホテルの上級会員の特典を利用してのアップグレードはダブルルームでしたが、1人利用だと十分な広さでオフィスのように使えます。コロナ禍でJALシティ豊洲に長期滞在してた時にリクエストしてたデスクランプと蕎麦殻枕なんて、事前に何もリクエストしなかったのに入れてくれてたのは、好印象。

海外在住者で様々な外国人ビジネスマンと現地でホテルに関して意見交換しますが、皆口を揃えてスイートのような広すぎるのも困ると言うことです。理由は部屋がすぐに冷えない温まらない、部屋の中を歩く距離が長くなるなど、広い部屋を好まない傾向にあります。大きなデスクと快適な椅子がある事が最低条件です。

食事も朝食無料でも食べないエグゼクティブが多い。外国人の多くは、塩分が高い和食を嫌う傾向にあります。ベジタリアンが多く、朝はフルーツと温野菜、コーヒーで十分ですが、朝食が美味しいという評判なので次回は食べなくても見る価値はありそうだ。

ダブルの部屋でしたが、デスクランプもあるし、エスプレッソマシンもあり、半日仕事できるくらい快適でした。バスルームは綺麗だし、私の部屋は清掃が行き届いてたと思う。部屋のタバコ臭さは全く同じなかった。海外に行くと酷いところは沢山あるが、私としては、こちらのホテルは期待以上。スタッフの受け答えもJALのCAと同等レベルの丁寧な言葉遣い。

なんと言っても寒い日に外出先から戻って来てエレベーターに乗ると暖房が効いてて感動した。まさにwarm welcomeを感じた。

ホテルから徒歩1分のところにイオン系の「まいばすけっと」というスーパーもあり、コンビニより健康的な食材が揃ってて大変重宝した。ホテルから「みなとみらい」へ運動のために歩きましたが、20分程の距離。都内と違って歩道が広く電柱もないのでとても歩きやすかった。

最初、もう泊まることはないかもと思ったけど、機会があればまた泊まりたい。

Considering a 3-4 star hotel in Yokohama, you should stay at this hotel. Really nice location near China town. Walking distance to Pacifico Yokohama convention center - approx. 20 mins only from hotel. There is a Aeon supermarket nearby - just one block away from the hotel. Hotels staff are very kind and friendly like JAL cabin crews. The comfort double room is worth to stay. A 17 SQM large room is good enough size for single. Breakfast seems to be very nice according to several word-of-mouth comments. A subway station locates close to the hotel. Most of trains take you directly to Shibuya Tokyo without changing another trains in Yokohama sta. It’s very convenient on the way back too. I recommend to you to this...
