OCHABAR CAFE Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Yokohama

Second time at this place. First was with a Thai coworker who highly recommended it. This time Not great. A lot more places better.

Decided to come here again for dinner with a different group. And this time, the service was terrible.

(Edited) the negative review is from the group, not just as an individual. I have to point this out based on owner's response to my review.

Main problem? They don't offer actual menus. They force you to use the barcode app to order. But unlike most other places, the barcode takes you to their LINE account. Which requires you to register your personal account to theirs before you can see the menu.

There were members in my group that didn't have LINE on their phone. So trying to order via other people's phone was a huge inconvenience. Plus the internet reception was poor, and they make you connect to their insecure wifi. Again, no choice. Noting with the staff and the attitude was simply do it their way or leave.

So we left. Unfortunate.

So anyone coming from outside Japan who doesn't want to download LINE will have a very difficult time at this place.

Edited: I stand by the above review of the restaurant despite the owner's scathing reply and personal attack on me as a customer. I would continue to advise others to not visit the restaurant, not only based on my above review, but the fact that they would personally attack anyone who have a different opinion of their operations.

A medium-sized Thai place that is a moderate walk from the station. I went on a Saturday for lunch and it was moderately busy. Take the elevator up and it just opens right into the restaurant. The greeter was pretty quick too and showed me to my seat.

Came for lunch, and their set meal cost from 1000 yen to 1350 yen which is the pad thai green curry and gapao set. We also ordered more from their dinner menu. Everything is flavourful, even more than usual which really satisfy the palatte.Pad thai is on the sweeter side but good. Definitely a new ultimate favourite for me.
