THE RIGOLETTO ocean club — Restaurant in Yokohama

This is one of the better 'chain' restaurants around. The ambiance is wonderful: no children, just adults, dim lighting, which I really love and usually Cuban, Brazilian, salsa, etc .being played by the DJ. You are greeted by a well-dresssed staff member and then escorted to the bar, your table.or couch/ lounge seat. All the staff welcome you (or say thank you when you are leaving) as you pass them. They have most of the usual alcohol at a bit higher than regular prices but still reasonable. The menu isn't really special but it has some good seafood, pizza, meat dishes, French fries and food from various countries. The orders are usually processed fast but sometimes will take a bit of time when the place is packed as on Friday and Saturday nights, national holidays and when they have their anniversary party. The party is usually at the end of August or early September and they give away prizes, sometimes have samba girls, have a limbo contest and there is a lot of dancing. It is great fun. Smoking is allowed in this place but only cigarettes, no cigars. There is a wraparound bar which seats about 10 people and a few standing tables at the entrance with tables of various sizes all around the back end of the establishment. Best to make an online reservation so as to avoid the hassle of putting your name on a wait list and hoping you might get in. The bathroom is clean and always smells great unless...well, you get the point. I've never seen anyone fighting or throwing up here, which I have seen in every establishment that I frequent regularly in Japan. I've been here at least 20 times with groups sometimes numbering 15 people and have never had a bad experience....

Visited again and I stick to my previous review, i.e. this restaurant serves good food, the staffs are friendly, the atmosphere is warm, lively, boisterously cheerful. Well, because of gaiety atmosphere, we can enjoy private conversations. This place always cheers me up. Visited after months of interval, this restaurant is still good, I mean lively atomosphere, tasty foods,and drinks including exclusive wines, and polite staffs. My recommendation is grilled meat and pizza. One thing, terrace seats are very noisy from the outdoor and sometimes it is not easy to enjoy conversation (not always). If you want to enjoy conversation with your date, you may want to choose salon seat where it is...

The mussels in the paella were overcooked, causing the shells to become brittle and disintegrate, leaving tiny pieces of shell in the food. Additionally, one of our dishes contained a hair, which was quite off-putting.

While the flavours were good, the restaurant clearly needs to improve its quality control in the kitchen and review its paella preparation methods.

Another downside was the uncomfortably hot temperature in the restaurant, which made the dining experience less enjoyable. Lowering the temperature and being more attentive to food preparation would make a big difference.
