Disclaimer: I’m reviewing my visit to High Garden in August 2022 compared to my visit to High Garden in November 2021.
My recent visit yesterday, was AWFUL! Starting from the moment we parked the car until we finished the non-tasty food, here is the full story.
When we parked, you have to pass by a set of disgusting trash cans that fills your nostrils with an absolute ugly smell that gives you your first dose of regretting visiting this place.
Then the very first “sign” you see at the entrance is a list of “forbidden outfits” which are prohibited from the restaurant like shorts, hats, and I don’t know what else (please keep in mind that our visit was on a Friday morning, which is expected to wear “weekend” outfits”.
Then comes the hostess, a lady that said: good morning, do you have a reservation? (Here I have to compare to my Nov.2021 visit which we weren’t asked such a question), and this lady was barely smiling!! Come on people, SMILE.. PLEASE!
Then all of a sudden after we told her no we don’t have a reservation and we don’t know that we have to book in advance based on our previous visit… She said: yeah but sometimes we require a reservation (hmmm.. so we should expect that in advance or what exactly!!)
Anyways, she walked us to a table “that is not reserved”, and the journey continues..
We checked their online menu and knew what we wanted, then waited around 12 minutes until someone finally came to us to take the order “he wasn’t smiling, he wasn’t welcoming.. just like the hostess”.
The food came 25 minutes later, and it wasn’t the best, most of it doesn’t taste good at all, the tea wasn’t hot, and no spoon to stir the sugar, then I informed the manager which he ordered to replace the tea to much hotter one, then they forgot to bring the sugar sachets back after they took first patch of tea, then they got it back.. then some dishes took a very long time to arrive and I just feel tired writing all of this now…
It was an unpleasant experience compared to our first visit, the staff has changed, most of them don’t smile, most of them are slow, and I’m writing this with confidence because another lady at the table next to us called the manager and submitted a couple of complaints similar to mine.
High Garden, Low Standards.....
Read moreI want to be as objective as I can. I rarely write reviews, but my family’s experience here was extremely disappointing. From the very beginning, we were given a hard time with seating. Despite many open tables, we were squeezed into a cramped spot right next to the entrance. After asking multiple times, we were eventually moved to a more suitable table (ironically, one that was sitting empty and clearly designed for three people).
Unfortunately, things only got worse. My son found a hair in his food. When we brought it up, the person who seemed to be the manager brushed it off, saying it wasn’t from the kitchen and that it was “new.” That response not only dismissed the issue but also made it feel like we were being accused of making it up. That kind of attitude was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful.
They did offer to prepare a new plate and later offered ice cream as compensation, but by then we were too disgusted to continue eating. A situation like this isn’t about free food, it’s about basic hygiene, accountability, and customer respect.
Advice to the restaurant: Take complaints seriously, train staff to handle them with professionalism, and prioritize both food safety and seating arrangements. A little respect and honesty go a long way.
Recommendation for others: If you’re considering dining here, be cautious. Our experience left us uncomfortable, unwelcome, and frankly, disgusted. There are plenty of other places where you’ll be treated better and can eat without second-guessing what’s...
