Disclaimer: Iâm reviewing my visit to High Garden in August 2022 compared to my visit to High Garden in November 2021.
My recent visit yesterday, was AWFUL! Starting from the moment we parked the car until we finished the non-tasty food, here is the full story.
When we parked, you have to pass by a set of disgusting trash cans that fills your nostrils with an absolute ugly smell that gives you your first dose of regretting visiting this place.
Then the very first âsignâ you see at the entrance is a list of âforbidden outfitsâ which are prohibited from the restaurant like shorts, hats, and I donât know what else (please keep in mind that our visit was on a Friday morning, which is expected to wear âweekendâ outfitsâ.
Then comes the hostess, a lady that said: good morning, do you have a reservation? (Here I have to compare to my Nov.2021 visit which we werenât asked such a question), and this lady was barely smiling!! Come on people, SMILE.. PLEASE!
Then all of a sudden after we told her no we donât have a reservation and we donât know that we have to book in advance based on our previous visit⊠She said: yeah but sometimes we require a reservation (hmmm.. so we should expect that in advance or what exactly!!)
Anyways, she walked us to a table âthat is not reservedâ, and the journey continues..
We checked their online menu and knew what we wanted, then waited around 12 minutes until someone finally came to us to take the order âhe wasnât smiling, he wasnât welcoming.. just like the hostessâ.
The food came 25 minutes later, and it wasnât the best, most of it doesnât taste good at all, the tea wasnât hot, and no spoon to stir the sugar, then I informed the manager which he ordered to replace the tea to much hotter one, then they forgot to bring the sugar sachets back after they took first patch of tea, then they got it back.. then some dishes took a very long time to arrive and I just feel tired writing all of this nowâŠ
It was an unpleasant experience compared to our first visit, the staff has changed, most of them donât smile, most of them are slow, and Iâm writing this with confidence because another lady at the table next to us called the manager and submitted a couple of complaints similar to mine.
High Garden, Low Standards.....
Read moreI want to be as objective as I can. I rarely write reviews, but my familyâs experience here was extremely disappointing. From the very beginning, we were given a hard time with seating. Despite many open tables, we were squeezed into a cramped spot right next to the entrance. After asking multiple times, we were eventually moved to a more suitable table (ironically, one that was sitting empty and clearly designed for three people).
Unfortunately, things only got worse. My son found a hair in his food. When we brought it up, the person who seemed to be the manager brushed it off, saying it wasnât from the kitchen and that it was ânew.â That response not only dismissed the issue but also made it feel like we were being accused of making it up. That kind of attitude was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful.
They did offer to prepare a new plate and later offered ice cream as compensation, but by then we were too disgusted to continue eating. A situation like this isnât about free food, itâs about basic hygiene, accountability, and customer respect.
Advice to the restaurant: Take complaints seriously, train staff to handle them with professionalism, and prioritize both food safety and seating arrangements. A little respect and honesty go a long way.
Recommendation for others: If youâre considering dining here, be cautious. Our experience left us uncomfortable, unwelcome, and frankly, disgusted. There are plenty of other places where youâll be treated better and can eat without second-guessing whatâs...
