The restaurant appears as Petra Kitchen on Google review but the menu mentions Petra Sky. For the avoidance of doubt the restaurant is located on the 5th floor of Petra Boutique Hotel. Best place to eat around Petra visitors centre (area we chose to stay in based on the proximity to Petra). We have been directed by the reception at our hotel(different hotel) to a couple of other restaurants but we left definitely unsatisfied - food was average at best. We even were directed to a restaurant in downtown Petra ( Reem Beladi) that was definitely a tourist trap (great service but average food). We went to the Petra Kitchen/Sky restaurant based on the Google reviews and were not disappointed at all. The service was great (Ahmed went above and beyond to respond to all of our ridiculous requests) and the food was absolutely delicious. Would...
Read moreWe had a brilliant fun evening at Petra Kitchen under the wise guidance of Chef Reda and his team. We were greeted with a fresh juice - perfect after a day hiking in Petra. Dressed in aprons and chef hats, we got chopping. Chef Reda and his team prepped some items in advance so we could make, between us, a fantastic menu - soup, hot and cold mezze dishes and delicious Magluba for main course. The team were fun, professional and we had a great evening cooking and chatting with like minded folk. Doesn’t matter if you can cook or not, you can learn. After prep we all sat down on a long table to enjoy the results. Thoroughly recommend it. Jordanian food is delicious and we loved this meal. And you get the recipes all printed to take home. My favourite was probably the baba ganouj and fatteh. If you’re in Petra do this one...
Read moreVery average cooking class experience. We were asked to only chop a couple of vegetables each. We were never told what we were making or any of its relevance to Jordanian cuisine. Once the food was cooked (which we played no part in), it was hastily placed in front of us with no explanation of what it was, and then dishes were constantly being taken away from us despite not being finished eating. We didn't learn anything from this class.
A good class for kids to keep them involved by chopping some vegetables, and the food on offer was tasty enough. But a poor learning experience and a poor...
