Artcaffé Restaurant Ring Road Parklands — Restaurant in Nairobi

The menu, pics and reviews were promising, but the food was underwhelming. We ordered breakfast and it took far too long and was served to us already cold. I ordered the everyday classic, my wife the vegetarian English. My over-easy eggs were over-medium and her poached medium were basically hard boiled eggs. For her dish - which the menu says comes with halloumi and home fries, came with mushrooms (which she doesn’t like) and no home fries. When asking the server to correct this, they said that mushrooms or halloumi are the options. Maybe, except she never offered an option between the two and the menu says nothing of the mushroom alternative. Gaslighting maybe? At any rate, they never ended up bringing the halloumi. I didn’t even mention the bread, which you’d expect to be good for a bakery… it was hard, cold, and definitely day-old quality. There are so few things to screw up with a breakfast and Artcaffé hit all of them this morning, except the cappuccino which was decent. Stay away, they take good pics for marketing but the food and service fall way short. I’d have preferred...

Absolutely fantastic place and here is why :

Very open atmosphere with fresh air and warm lighting when it gets dark Lots of plants on the outside that add good ambience to the space. Very kind staff who get your order right and are concerned about your well being. Lot of basement parking. You barely pay Ksh 50 after staying for 2 hours. Very good cocktails, their mixologist knows ball. You can request for stronger cocktails if you have lost your taste buds. Good food that is well cooked. Low soft music that allows you to keep a conversation going. Good security

We had read really good reviews of great breakfast offered by this Art Cafe. We were TOTALLY disappointed. The server was not attentive, did not write down our order and the specifics we requested. The food was very late and came in pieces. We had to keep reminding the server to belting condiments. We had 2 orders of Egg Benedict which was supposed to be served with Hollandaise Sauce. There was a tiny amount served and that too seemed from 2 days an ago and may have gone bad. They probably did not want us to fall sick so did not add a lot.
