Adamz Barbecue, Mombasa — Restaurant in Majengo ward

Update to my earlier 5 star review:

Food quality has really gone down of late. Was there last week, ordered poussin, chooza and keema chapati. The poussin chicken and chips were mouth searingly hot with flavors not balanced properly. Chooza wasn’t up to the mark, and neither was the chapati. With Hashmi coming back in sometime soon, Adams had better to their game, and fast!

Adams barbeque took over from Hashmi after their mombasa branch shut down. For all the lovers of Hashmi's incomparably famous "chicken chooza," here's the good news; Adams comes pretty darn close to the real thing! Other dishes include kababs, mishkaki, a great selection of fries, naans and drinks. There's lobster on the menu as well, but it's quite on the pricier side. Other menu items are quite reasonably priced. Oh, and the kids play area has thankfully been retained by the new owners, so that's pretty...

.....The food here is just excellent. We arrived for early dinner. People in Mombasa go out to eat after 8pm. Plenty of parking,on the street. Restaurant is on the first floor. No elevator or wheelchair access. Upstair you enter the restaurant's outdoor seating area. It is clean and and lots of tables available. There is also a smaller, indoor , air-conditioned area, available. The waiters are efficient and knowledgeable. The food is prepared and served quickly. Excellent food. Pleasurable experience. Food was awesome. The ribs were bomb good! Chooza was delicious! Portions were great Service was normal

Awesome fact: They gave me a lot leftover bones to take home for my dogs.

Con: It was like 10:30pm and they wanted to close so they began taking all the tables & chairs away. For 10 minutes it got pretty noisy listening to all that screeching & moving around. That was unprofessional & basically a sign to eat fast & leave

Something funny is the kuku leg we received. No meat on that 😂
