I had a very disappointing experience at mikes cafe last weekend. I had ordered food online and after being told it will be ready after a certain time frame, i had arrived at the restaurant and was told my order is not ready yet. Apparently they were too busy. I had to wait another hour for my order.The manager who was there was super rude to us, i started to think im being racially profiled because all other guests who come in he treats them with respect. After inquiring why my order is not ready or what is taking so long, the manager goes on to say that today is a weekend and if you would come any other day you will get “better service”. This statement has shocked me.
Upon receiving my bill, noticed it was inflated and had to ask for the breakdown. Upon asking the manager had checked and apologized for the mistake saying it was a mixup between the employees. This is not the first occasion such has happened. Ive gone to mikes a couple times and the service is just terrible. The manager there just brushes off any complaints you have and lacks customer service skills. He literally shows you he doesnt care about your concerns. It’s concerning that this was only addressed after my persistence, raising doubts about transparency. The entire communication regarding the order was via text, which made it easier to reference, so the ‘sorry, wrong bill’ excuse felt sketchy.
Additionally, on multiple occasions (including this being the third time), the tamarind sauce (ukwaju) – a key accompaniment for some of my orders like viazi and bhajia – was consistently left out despite my reminders. When I pointed it out again today, they simply ignored me, which is frustrating and reflects poorly on their customer service.
