Onza — Restaurant in Nairobi

We were there a group of 8 on Saturday 6th January, 2024 at night.

Being a new restaurant, just a week old, we were quite hesitant to go but then decided to try it out. Our hearty congratulations for the excellent restaurant with great ambience, clean, neat and tidy.

What a wonderful welcome by the manager Mr. Charles.   Together with his team, they welcomed us and showed us around the great restaurant. The bitings for both the vegetarians and the non-vegetarians were excellent.  We greatly enjoyed the Mediterranean cuisine.   The main food was mouth-watering and brilliant.   The desserts were the best of the best. The waitress: Elsie among other team members was very efficient and prompt in her services. The wine cooler room is excellent with a great variety of all types of wine to choose from.

Indeed, we have some of our friends who have started asking us about the new restaurant and we have been giving them very positive feedback.

Onza provided the perfect setting for my recent birthday dinner with friends. We celebrated in a private booth, which was wonderfully intimate and allowed us to add our own decorations, making the evening feel truly special. The food was exceptional. The lamb chops with mashed potatoes were incredibly tender, and the sirloin steak with mushrooms was equally impressive. We also loved the delicious seafood risotto. Every dish highlighted the kitchen's commitment to quality. The cocktails were a definite highlight, too. Each was expertly crafted with just the right balance of ingredients and potency, making for delightful drinks throughout the night. Our waiter, David, was incredibly attentive and friendly, significantly enhancing our dining experience. I attended a girls night out here a couple of weeks ago. Service was quick and staff are professional, polite and friendly. Located inside a mall, this is not the kind of place one would pick for a work dinner given the extremely loud live music and lack of closed up dining rooms for a bit of quiet and some serious conversation but is perfect for a rave night with friends. To that end, it was perfect for the occasion. I personally wouldn’t go back because I prefer to have my dinner with background music that allows me to hear myself and others talk. I read a review from 5 months ago in which someone mentioned the loud music, but Onza clearly didn’t care to make any changes. Now the food…excellent! I ordered to-go: lamb shank and lamb chops with roasted potatoes and mushroom risotto but I think I was given polenta instead of risotto (I know how to make risotto).
