I'm writing this review after just experiencing an unmitigated disaster at Ohcha, on the evening of Friday 29th July. We revisited Ohcha after many, many years when they were still on the ground floor, to rekindle fond memories of the food they had then. My wife started of with a lemon grass lemonade that was essentially sugar, water, almost no lemon and certainly no lemon grass. We returned it after the waitress stated it could not be adjusted (by simply adding some lemon!). Next, we had chicken spring rolls, which were fair, although the chicken was sparse (mostly cabbage) and the wrapping thick (I prefer thin wraps). The sauce tasted straight out of a jar; more of a sweet jelly than anything, but ok once I mixed in some chilies. Next we had the Kee Mao Beef, which my wife couldn't eat given the heat. To be fair, the waitress warned us it would be spicy, but this was on another level in many ways (I normally enjoy hot, spicy food). Imagine rice noodles steeped in a sugary sauce - almost candied - and doused in black pepper (not chillies mind you). Completely uncomplimentary, unbalanced flavours, not to mention the hard beef. It was one of the worst dishes I've had in my life in Nairobi (and the world). Unfortunately, since my wife couldn't eat it, we foolishly ordered the Pad Thai, one of our favourite dishes, which believe it or not was worse. The entire dish seemed to have been steeped in raw egg (the egg is supposed to be cooked!). Somehow she persevered through a few bites before throwing in the towel like I did with my Kee. It was such an unbelievable, surreal experience (almost like a sick joke) that for the first time ever I demanded to speak to the manager, Bishop. He promised a better experience next time, but my wallet and palate will not allow me to return. Fool me once, shame on you;...
Read moreWhat a horrible experience. We got there and it took long for someone to come and take our order. Water bottles arrived but the glasses were delayed by 10mins, soda wasnt opened for another 5mins, food took an hour to come, people who ordered after us or thru Urban eats got food before us and when the food did arrive non of condiments arrived also some of the ingredients requested were missing. Manager's excuse was the kitchen was busy. I could have sympathised if she had made the effort to communicate that but it was radio silence on our food till we kicked up a fuss. The general manager kept saying I will make it up to you next time, like that will ever happen. The service was atrocious, the food while good is not worth the wait or the hassle. We hoped for a quick and tasty meal as were with tired kids turned out to be a long wait with average food. Would not recommend them n will not returning. So Alfonso you have most definitely lost a customer hope it was worth it! P.S We were not the only customers who had a bad...

During this entire time, no one from the restaurant bothered to call and explain the delay, and they were not answering their phones.
When the rider finally showed up after we had obviously given up, his explanation was they were busy and dismissed me.
I complained the next day and instead of a manger calling me back, a waitress with no authority whatsoever was told to speak to me and gave me this half sincere apology.
Only 4 or so days later did a manager call me he offered nothing for the inconvenience. They only did so cause YUM deliveries made them, as they tried to pass the blame onto YUM.
I used to love OhCha but this put me off and I have never eaten or ordered from them again. Sorry guys I know I am one person but customer service matters... especially when one spends...
