Nested in the heart of Riga, this restaurant is a true gem that effortlessly marries romance with refined gastronomy. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance exudes understated elegance—perfect for an intimate evening or a celebratory occasion.

The cuisine is nothing short of exceptional. Each dish is a testament to culinary artistry, thoughtfully crafted with a commitment to sustainability and individuality. The menu, curated by one of Latvia’s most acclaimed chefs, showcases locally-sourced, eco-conscious ingredients transformed into innovative, flavor-forward creations that linger on the palate.

At the helm of this culinary journey is the visionary chef, whose genius lies not only in technique but in his ability to tell a story through food. Every dish on the menu is his own creation—painstakingly developed, seasonally attuned, and deeply inspired by Latvian traditions with a modern twist. His dedication to originality and sustainability has earned him recognition both locally and abroad, and his passion is evident in every bite.

This establishment not only elevates Latvian dining but redefines it—combining tradition, creativity, and environmental responsibility into an unforgettable gastronomic experience.

Our “wonderful” dinner at restaurant B7 today almost ended with a fight, after a real nationalist - the owner of the place Valters said (in the middle of the dinner) that we were in Latvia and we should speak Latvian here. It should be clarified that he took the order in Russian without any problems.

We tried the appetizers, and when the owner came up to us again I asked if the steak we ordered for the second course was being prepared. he said that it wasn't yet, and I asked him to cancel the steak. he asked “is something wrong?”. i said that we were full. he asked, already irritated, “is something wrong with the appetizers too?”. (I replied that the pate was good, but we didn't like the ceviche. He said “this is the best ceviche in Riga”. I replied that everyone has their own tastes.

after that, the owner made an absolutely rude remark about my friend, saying “is this his first time in a restaurant?”.

After this inappropriate remark, I replied “mind your own business”, to which for some reason he proudly announced that we were in Latvia, where you have to speak Latvian, said we should leave his restaurant and that he doesn’t want to see our faces again, leaving the foreigners at the table next to us...

Won’t come 2nd time. Dishes and food itself doesn’t worth it. Quite fatty meats especially jamon that was more of sliced “pig fat/salo”, desserts neither enjoyed. Tiramisu has only name from original dish (breaded with kinda nutella whipped cream), or fried white bread with sour cream and sugar butter on the side… Very disappointing for restaurant level serving and taste wise. Can only say that fresh bread with butter was delicious hence 5 euro for 3 slices is a bit inadequate..considering all long established places around bring it complimentary and the same quality, some even being more creative with butter tastes. Olives were also good.

If you want to have more than a drink with bread and olives (that even doesn’t worth the price) - would rather choose the...

One of the most unique and quality dining experiences in Riga for a reasonable price. The chef/owner personally serves the guests and gives an introduction on the menu and the seasonal ingredients used for each food item. I would definitely recommend ordering the 6-course sharing experience set menu, which is a great way to try the local ingredients and get an insight into the chef’s culinary vision. The food is rather simple, yet flavourful and well-made. My personal highlights: salmon carpaccio, beef and home-made kombucha. The design of the place is very Nordic and minimal, which fits well with the overall concept of the restaurant. Definitely coming back!

Simple, beautiful, flavourful food. Fantastic price. We had the 6 course tasting experience: bread & labneh, salmon ceviche, beef tartare, skrei cod, venison, rice pudding (pictured is the choux bun) Food was wonderful, set in a minimalist and relaxing environment. Good wine selection, with some finer wines even by the glass. A small restaurant run by a couple, hidden away on a snowy street in Riga, with music playing on a vinyl. Not the easiest to find, doesn’t have a big door sign, just trust google maps, it’s correct. Will be visiting again!
