Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this 4-star hotel warrants it. In less than 24 hours, I faced two unsettling incidents that made my stay very uncomfortable.
Firstly, I booked the sauna yesterday, expecting a relaxing moment. Instead, seven teenagers accessed the sauna through the fitness room while I was using it. Despite asking them to leave and locking the door, they started knocking, creating a very unpleasant and distressing situation—especially as a woman. When I reported this to the reception, their only response was a casual "sorry," which is far below the standard of service expected from a 4-star hotel.
Secondly, today, I took the elevator to my floor. As I tried to exit, two young individuals entered and physically blocked my way out. When I asked, "Can I go out?" they mockingly replied, "No." This made me feel incredibly unsafe and unwelcome.
I chose a 4-star hotel expecting both comfort and security, but this stay fell far short of those expectations. I cannot recommend this hotel, particularly for women, given the lack of proper safety measures and the poor handling of such incidents...
Read moreWe had a long weekend in Riga, and choosing Monika Hotels was a good decision. The location is great, and we could reach everything by foot. The staff was nice. The receptionists, cleaners and staff in the breakfast buffet were all helpful and polite. We got to check in earlier, and store our luggage while taking advantage of our last hours in Riga, on the last day. It's clean, and the cleaners change your towels and check-in on your room every day. We got a good deal, meaning we didn't pay so much for the room, and of course had a smaller one without a view. It was still decent, especially considering the price. Spacious shower, but we did regret not asking for a bathtub, as it was a bit chilly outside.
