Gan bei - Galleria Riga — Restaurant in Riga

Disappointment and lack of professionalism from management. Reminded me of big chain cheap restaurant, lets get customers in ,serve and cash in. But lets start with positive part. We arrived with big group of people 6 adults,4 children. Outside tables are great when sun isnt cooking u, great view. Very calm atmosphere. Sushi was great, my baked ice cream aso excellent. I did liked waiter, she was doing good regards of restaurant lack of employees for busy day. Amazing view outside. Negative... Veeeery long waiting for food, i get it, busy timing,many people but thats something you need to make as an account when u have so many seats. Me and kids ordered warm meat meals and i took soup obviously as starter. After long long waiting and 2 glass of Riesling sushis came and im like where is my food, where is kids food so i thought will wait extra 2 mins or something. yeah right, after loooooong waiting i was no way im eating my soup when my friends are done with half sushi and kids and me haven't got food yet, so naturally i politely canceled and explained, im not gonna eat my soup same time with my warm food and on top when my friends at that point were finishing big set of sushies. Well bill was 350e+ where they also charged for soupe and with no logical explanation i payed for my soup neither i was offered would i wish to take away it as we have to charge you..like super rude. Crispy chicken honey source was far away from crispy and more like sweet chilli source. And yes i had to call 4 times separately waiter even tho she was nice but restaurant is busy charging proper amount of money and lacking kitchen and dining stuff. Neither manager itself came to talk in proper manners and explain about order. Definitely wont visit again even tho sushi was great but so does many restaurants are great in services and menu in Riga. Not suggesting for...

I've been to different ganbei restourants in different countries, but this one was worst by a mile so far, never coming back to any of them, will give few points of what happened: Some girls skipped the line in front of, the server told them they must go back in line, they skipped again, when told to the server they skipped she told us she cannot do anything. Got to sit by the one table that was fully in the sun, because ``someone'' skipped the line, told the waiter the girl I was with was pregnant and cannot stay in the sun for long period of time, her reply was, there are no more tables so sit here.. In the end the girl threw up in the bathroom. The order that was delivered was wrong (chicken and salad) but we did not inform the server, we saw she was tired already because of the big volume of customers. Rice and chicken were cold, server did not deliver us the sushi that we ordered, when we asked about it when we were given the check, we were told to wait and to take out sushi, when we informed her we didint came here to take away food she became rude and upset. The worst part we paid over 60 euros, the girl couldnt eat because of the situation, had to wait in line for 40minutes, for the food 50 minutes and in the end had worst...

I went to Ganbei with my friend during lunchtime, around 3pm, the waitress was very polite and gave us our menus fast. I ordered the small portion of their famous honeychicken and some rice with vegetables on the side. The price for the food was understandable, though the drinks were a little expensive. I ordered some tea which was 3euros, more expensive than my rice! I am a student, so maybe my judgement is a little biased since i do not have a job and I cannot spend that much money on some tea very often. The food was good, I like that they make the honey chicken crispy. The rice was a little dry but together with the honey chickens sauce it was perfect. Tea wasn’t anything special, i think they could definitely charge less for it. The only problem in Ganbei that i keep on having, is that I have to wait such a long time for my recepit. It has even happened where i tend to wait 30min since i asked for my receipt, i went to the counter to remind them and them still had to wait another 15min. You mostly pay for the experience here, because the food tastes the same like in any other asian food bistro, where i could eat a whole meal for 3eur. It has beautiful interior and good to come...
