Restaurant Esplanade & Lobby Bar — Restaurant in Riga

Kind of a mixed review here. I will say their poke bowls are amazing (had them a few times), but I decided to try something different last night - bad choice. I love a good hot wing challenge, but this one was flawed on every level. The brochure gives the rules of the challenge and seemed pretty straightforward. When the food arrived, things took a turn. First, the wings were very overdone. Next, to successfully complete the challenge, all the sauce had to be gone - 5 small bowls of sauce for 10 wings?!?! I had to order fries to finish the sauces. I finished everything- no problem with heat, but eating that much sauce? When it came for the "prize" of my "special drink", it was a small draft beer, glass of wine, or non-alcoholic drink. Seriously...special. As a VIP member, I've certainly tried several Radisson products. This promotion is definitely a FAIL. Although this item is not worth the try, I can honestly say that most of their menu items are great. I'll be back...as I'm living in Riga and friends normally stay here. Thanks...but please fix...

Price is too high, glass of average wine cost 10-14 Eur, same as bottle of the same wine in store. Food quality lower than average, carbonara is terrible, overcooked and fatty. Service also poor, when the hall is empty, you have to wait too long for them to take your order, without any smile, felt like I owed them something. Just atmosphere is not bad, but definitely no worth to visit. A lot of nice places of much higher level you can get in Riga for same...

Large, space seating. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean and welcoming. Large spread of Latvian and continental breakfast. Good tea assortment and coffee selection. At Christmas time, the restaurant is decorated in a warm festive feel. Bar area has lots of seating with lounge music and a nice view...
