I will be listing pros and cons according to my needs.
1- you cant pay with card there is an atm inside and they tell you to take money out. 2-waiter do not take your order you should order via the qr code which really takes away the restaurant theme in my opinion(I would like to be fully served) 3-I order a crispy sandwich for around 6euros which tasted good for its price but the size is small. 4-I ordered 2 desserts the waffle with ice cream and fruits and the chocolate pancake with banana inside. My opinions for the waffle dish is there was just so much fruit comparing to waffle and ice cream like 75/25, and the waffle was quite small. They made the dish look big with putting whipped cream and loads of fruits.(Just dont please.)
When we come to the chocolate pancake i was satisfied with the taste but the size was a little small again in my opinion.
So according to what i ate i wouldn’t suggest this place because the service is taking a long time, portions are quite small, its cash only.
But i would say waiter was quite polite and the restaurant is in a...
Read moreI've already been here a few months back once and enjoyed it greatly, so naturally, visiting Latvia again, chose Golden Coffee to go to. Both times the restaurant delivered - the food (I had their national dishes) was top notch, the waiters were friendly and helpful. I don't usually drink wine in restaurants (not really a wine guy), but the staff talked me into it and, I must say - it was well worth it! Reasonably priced and very tasty. Despite the place being quite crowded, the food was served rather quickly -- unexpectedly quickly, even. Apart from that, the atmosphere of the place is also worth noting - it had a great cosy and authentic feel to it, and the view from the terrace was simply stunning. While visiting the second time I had also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, with whom I've had a very nice talk. Without a doubt, visiting Golden Coffee was one of the highlights of both of my...
Read moreIn Riga Old Town, Golden Coffee is my favoured place. Great menu with excellent tables describing which food items have ingredients that may be allergic for some, haven't seen a more detailed listing anywhere to be honest.
Being next to the main Riga Cathedral, there is a lot of competition from restaurants nearby. The female staff are consistently the most beautiful in Riga, rotating their roles every 20 to 30min it seems, possibly with a quick change of uniform. The hardest role is for the young lady to attract and convince potential clients to come in for a delicious meal. Sometimes watching the lady perform this difficult role in the nicest way, it's a little sad to watch the rudeness of some tourists in declining the offer to come in. The lady handles it beautifully, with aplomb and grace, but must be affected at times. Food is great, service is great and...
