Unfortunately no photos...

So, we did visit this place multiple times over the week. It started as a "let's find a pub and get a drink before we do an escape room" but because we loved the ale (Shepards Meeme - I believe) we thought we'd go back for dinner. However, 3 out of 4 dishes were cold and due to the lack of visibility of our waiter, my wife and mother-in-law approached the bar to express concerns. Unfortunately they were literally told to "wait for your waiter". So the meals were eaten and when the waiter finally came back to see how things were, after we were finished, I complained and explained the problem. They did give us 15% off the bill but it doesn't make up for eating a cold meal.

We went back because we did enjoy the ale, however they had run out the next day. We didn't stay for a full meal but the calamari and spring rolls were delicious, no problems. This is the only reason we visited after the first let down with cold food. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.... Some of the staff are understanding and some are just rude. So I'm giving it 3 stars but I would give it more if they made some changes to how they approach things. Riga, is full of places to eat and drink. If you run out of ideas, check...

Considering the location, this place probably survives only because it’s right in the middle of the city center. €9 for a beer? I’ve dined in Michelin-starred restaurants, and even they didn’t charge that much for a draft. The prices overall are completely out of proportion—you’d think you were in a high-end restaurant, not in a rundown pub lookalike.

I can accept that this is a tourist trap, and of course no one forced me to stay. But at the end, when the bill (2 drinks and a snack) came, the waiter mentioned that service wasn’t included (fair enough) and asked if we’d like to leave something. We said €2, but he charged €3 instead—and we only noticed after paying contactless. So either the waiter can’t calculate, which is bad enough, or he did it deliberately, which is worse.

I’ve read that many restaurants in Riga’s Old Town are mainly for tourists, and sadly this seems to be true. My advice: avoid this place—and maybe most restaurants in Riga’s Old...

Food and drinks were overpriced. The garlic bread was brown, which I've never seen anywhere else. It was not good at all. My drink was great, but 10 euros is a lot (they are normally 5-7 euro elsewhere). The wait for my main course was quite long, it was a 15 euro pasta. It was fine but not great, but quite a small portion size for the price being that high.

They don't serve tap water, but there was a staff member 2 tables away drinking tap water on break. Music was fine and not too loud. Twice there was very obnoxiously loud chanting that I don't think came from people at the restaurant and rather was something projected in. Even after turning on my noise cancelation headphones, this sound was still present. It very much ruined the otherwise alright atmosphere.

I very rarely leave google reviews, but I really really wouldn't recommend this place, especially if you are someone with noise sensitivity...

A very poor experience, from service to food. When we arrived, we had to find our own table, as the bartender, though he noticed us, simply walked away. Fortunately, there was a menu on the table, so by the time the waiter arrived (5–10 minutes later), we had already decided what to order. Otherwise, it would have taken even longer. I ordered a shrimp salad, but the shrimp were cold, and when I asked for bread with the salad, they charged 2 € per portion. So, the bread ended up costing 4 €. The prices are very high – understandable if matched by quality, but the quality was definitely lacking. Overall, a very disappointing experience. A previous visit during the day was 50/50, but this time left me even more dissatisfied, so I don’t think I’ll be returning.

I had a very strange experience here that would have easily been resolved by better customer service — the lettuce in my burger was didn’t seem to have been washed and was covered in dirt. It was like eating food you had dropped in the sand at the beach. No one asked how my food was, and when I found a server and said this I was not offered a replacement. I disassembled the burger, removed the lettuce, wiped off the meat, and managed to eat some of it. Thought I might be crazy, but a review from 3 weeks earlier says their salad was “covered in dirt”. On the positive side: Fries were good and there was an interesting selection of beers and ciders

Pretty abismal experience. The place LOOKED like a good London pub with food, but the similarities stopped there. I ordered an appetizer platter and fish and chips. It took 30 min for the food to arrive even though it was 1pm on Sunday and only a small handful of customers and half of the food was hot and the other half lukewarm by the time it arrived. The appetizer plate was supposed to have nachos, but as seen in the picture it’s just a small handful of broken tortilla chips. The wings weren’t any good, and the rest was just ok. The fish was bland with no flavor and no lemon available. Overall it was quite an overpriced disappointment.
