Lighthouse Beach Snack Bar — Restaurant in Paphos Municipality

I do not expect great food at a beach side bar. Decent is great, there is often little space in the kitchen and equipment is short. But the two bites of those fish and chips I got there still make me shiver from the disgust I suffered there, an hour after we have left. These sad two pieces of mashed leftovers of what was once a living sea creature must have soaked overnight in that fryer in cheapest oil that probaly has already taken care of a weeks load of battered goods and bads. I could not force myself to a third bite, despite that good appetite after the long walk and it might take me the rest of the day and shots followed by icecream to erase that taste from my buds. IT is hard to imagine any of the staff ever had that dish. No decent human being would ever knowingly punish anybody with this truly ugliest meal I ever had in that 53 year long life I was given so far. Have a drink there, enjoy the view, but NEVER...

We are sooo glad that we decided to spend our last evening in Cyprus here before catching our flight. This beach bar has the most amazing view of the sunset over the Mediterranean as it directly faces west. The bar itself is relaxed, old-timey, nostalgic and radiates sun sea sand vibes. The food and drinks were affordable, generously portioned and delicious. I had a pepperoni pizza for €8 and was absolutely stuffed! The beach itself is right on the doorstep of the bar and we strolled down after dinner with cocktails in hand and lounged on the deck chairs as we watched the sunset, enjoying the gentle ocean breeze. A lovely beach, beach boy who collects money for sunbeds very friendly and so are cafe/ bar staff . Shame the beach / water isnt too accessible to children or some adults due to rocks and mass seaweed. Shame they dont do like other countries and get someone out early to rake / ckean sand etc . However still a lovely spot to watch the waves and the horizon one side and mountain ranges the other side . And still.spent 9 hours a day down there and soaked up the sunshine .
