Berman House — Hotel in Kaunas

What an amazing stay. My wife and I decided to take a last-minute vacation to Kaunas, and this hotel quickly became a favorite. The hotel is situated just outside of Old Town along the river. Access to the hotel is quite easy as long as you approach it so that you simply turn right after passing the front of the hotel to get to the parking in the rear of the building. If you come from the opposite direction (closest to the river, you will have to turn across 3-4 lanes of traffic into another business or make U-turn - yikes. As for parking, be sure to book a spot in advance - limited and pretty tight in areas. As soon as you enter the hotel, you will immediately notice the high level of decor and amazing re-modeling using the old original brickwork. They also fill the air with a scent - very inviting. We were greeted kindly by a young lady at the front desk and explained everything about the stay. We opted for the continental breakfast on the first night, as we were not to aware of the area. The breakfast is delivered to your room the evening before - there isn't a kitchen/dining area in the hotel. You eat breakfast in your room. The room itself is beautiful and modern. The bathroom is amazing and our room had a very large tub. We were in a top floor room with skylights and other windows. The absolutely only thing I can think of that might not be to everyone's liking are the pillows - you can request extra pillows though. The hotel is located a few minutes walking away from Old Town - perfect. The main shopping strip is a bit further, but still not too bad - depending on how much you buy hahaha. Overall, a great stay. Overall a good stay for the price (quasi 4.5 stars). The location is good (about 7 minutes to the busy bus stop).

All the rooms on the second floor are under the sloping roof, but this is not a problem thanks to the powerful air conditioning. It may be a question of taste, but the four skylights can only be "darkened" with a pleated blind, so it gets very bright in the room early in the morning. Perhaps there are other solutions.

Also, the water pressure and extractor fan in the bathroom were a bit weak.

Junior suite is very large. Good size of the bed. It has additionally bathtub in the room (not in the bathroom). Please be aware, that there is one glass wall into the bathroom with no curtains. Other types of rooms are much smaller, mostly just to sleep. There are air-conditioning in the rooms, however, in the smaller one it might be pushing air directly at you, which might make you feel not so comfortable. Room design is very nice, fresh and modern.
