One of the most interesting museums in Lithuania) You must visit it when you're in Kaunas. It is a good example of an art gallery where you enjoy Lithuanian art from the Middle Ages till the 21st century. The main exhibition is connected with the life and creativity of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis. It looks absolutely great - wonderful and a bit mysterious paintings, contemporary installations, and a music hall where you can listen to Čiurlionis' musical composition. The national museum boasts some original fabulous art deco masterpieces. There is an exhibition hall of Lithuanian traditional applied and decorative art. The museum is...
Read moreThis place should have a sign “children under certain age are not welcome”. We came with our three year old who was walking around and looking at the paintings. As soon as we walked into Ciurlionio exhibit, immediately I felt like someone was following me very closely. After taking a few turns, I knew I was followed by a person who works there. She got so close that I could feel her breathing down my neck. I turned around and asked “are you going to follow me around for the rest of the exhibit?” She said “yes”. She didn’t explain whether my son was talking too loud, walking too fast. She just stood there not knowing what to say. I was appalled and pretty disgusted. When she said “yes”, I answered that she doesn’t have to worry about it, because we are leaving. If children are not allowed and your staff will harass the guests, please be upfront about it, so I won’t waste my time and money...
