Updating the review because since the last time it really really upped the game and the food was divine on the latest visit, the service was absolutely great and lively, the wine by the glass was super good :) I saw that there was Aperol too so I guess they updated Aperol Spritz as well!
*Nothing italian about this place (I’ve travelled through the whole Italy and ate in all the regions, both in trattoria’s and restaurants, and also had dishes made by local nonna’s) 🙈
Aperol spritz is made with Luxardo - first alert, only couple of options to have wine by the glass and those options are very basic, chosen without soul. If you want to try more wines, you have to order bottles.
We don’t save money on food and chose all the pricey options in this restaurant - mediterranian octopus, tagliolini with Canadian lobster. Octopus unedible, chewy and as someone said in the other review - there is no art to cook octopus, just cook it longer. There are much better true Italian places in Vilnius with amazing octopus :) Tagliolini with lobster oily though I liked the pasta itself, at least was cooked properly. No tools to eat the lobster - solve yourself how to eat it with your hands, try to crush the shell with the fork or whatever.
We also had bruschettas with pesto - these were really good.
Concept is good, interior is lovely, but to call yourself an Italian restaurant, you need to listen to what people say and really really work...
Read moreThis was my second visit to this restaurant. The first time was in the summer, when I enjoyed a wonderful dinner on the terrace. On this occasion, we dined indoors. Both times, I ordered the Vitello Tonnato, which I believe is one of the best you can find in Vilnius. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the caper and tuna sauce was rich and flavorful.
This time, we also tried one of the pizzas. It was fine—simple, with a thin crust and plenty of arugula, which I liked. However, the pizza was served almost cold, which was disappointing. Pizza should be served hot, straight from the oven.
For the main course, we shared the T-Bone steak with young potatoes and grilled vegetables. Not only did it taste excellent, but the presentation was also impeccable. The beautifully cooked piece of meat arrived sizzling in the pan. I would highly recommend trying it—although it is pricey, it’s well worth it.
We finished the evening with dessert. The chocolate fondant was very good, with a melting center and rich flavor. The tiramisu was outstanding—creamy, moist, and delicious. However, I was not impressed with the pistachio ice cream. It was bland, as if it had been store-bought and not of the best quality.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and our waitress did a fantastic job. She was friendly and professional throughout...
Read moreWe were eager to dine at a new Italian spot in Vilnius. As usual, official Instagram profile captured the eye with some great pictures of the venue and etc.
So, it was five people at our table. At first, we’ve ordered drinks - waited for 20 minutes. We only managed to get the second round of drinks by physically going to the bar, because we were tired of waiting.
We got our first dishes (starters) after 1,5 hours of waiting.
Main dishes arrived in 2,5 hours.
Within 3 hours we finally managed to receive our order at fullest.
We understand that this is the new place and the staff need to adjust, however during these 3 hours, there were 3 tables sitting right next to us, who arrived later than us, but somehow they managed to get everything on their tables and finnish the dinner within half of the time we spent at the venue waiting. We noticed, that there were famous local people - that’s the reason why they received proper attention.
The menu even had a lot of spelling mistakes.
Out of everything we tried, the food was mediocre, only the carpaccio and chocolate fondant were good.
The only bright side of the evening that the waitress did her best despite the total chaos at the restaurant.
We hope to comeback soon but with...
